Delta ALB-CVG-IND-CVG-ALB

Thu Oct 25, 2001 6:30 am

I write this in the memory of all those who have been affected in the September 11 tradgedy.

Delta Air Lines Flight 2069
10/18/01
ALB-CVG , B727

I found that the security in Albany was not as up tight as the local news channels pointed it out to be. It only took about 5 minutes to check in and get to my gate, the only difference being 1 carry-on, and showing I.D. here and there. The flight to CVG was almost full, only a few empty seats. Very calm and quick flight. Usual DL service, a drink and snack mix. We landed in CVG about 10 minutes late because we had to wait a a few minutes on the runway in ALB for other traffic.

Delta Air Lines Flight 1562
10/18/01
CVG-IND , MD-88

First of all I have to say that I love CVG. This was my first time there and I really like it better than DL's ATL hub. We let from Concourse B and i was surprised how new it was. The airport was quite busy around 9pm. We left CVG exactly on time and the flight to IND was only about 20 minutes. It was a great short flight, after about 10 minutes we began to decend, I really couldn't believe it. But, we arrived in IND on time and taxied for about 20 minutes. I think we taxied to the gate longer than we were in the air  Smile/happy/getting dizzy. Once at the gate we quickly deplaned and headed to the hotel.

I just have to say that Indy is probably the best city I have ever been to. I found it clean, safe, and full of things to do. I suggest that everyone should go there Smile/happy/getting dizzy, Indy has a little bit of something for everyone. By the way I went to Indy mainly for the Colts game only to see them beaten badly by New England, but the city compensated for their loss.  Crying

Comair Flight 5656
10/22/01
IND-CVG , CRJ

Another on-time, short flight to CVG. I really like the way that Comair has its terminal set up at CVG. It is much more organized then ASA at Atlanta. We arrived at the gate on time and hopped on the shuttle bus to Concourse A.

Delta Air Lines Flight 902
10/22/01
CVG-ALB

We boarded early and left CVG early. This flight like almost all DL flights was quick and on time. We arrived in ALB about 30 minutes early, great surprise. Happy to be back home after a nice weekend retreat. Smile/happy/getting dizzy

Well, I guess if you're from Albany, even Indianapolis can look like a happenin' town!

Any attempt at service on the 20 min flight or how was the announcement about no service worded?

There was no service on the 20 min flight. The captain just said that since the flight was so short he was asking all f/a's to stay seated.
I can only hope that all the people onboard took that as no service.  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

We were at CVG at the same time on the 18th. I was going to SAN from B25, I think. The flight from IND has been as little as 15 minutes for me before, and they always announce no service and the FA stays seated the whole time. I usually just drive to CVG and skip the whole IND leg. BTW, IND is a great town. Thanks for noticing that.
