I took a quick trip to Orlando back in August to meet some good friends and do some spotting. I took my first ever trip on US Airways.

My flight departed at 1730 from ORD's Terminal 2 Concourse F. This Concourse is the new home of the entire United Express operation and is also one of the oldest in the airport. It is constantly crowded and a pain to get through ever since UAX moved there. Boarding started about 25 minutes prior and the flight was about 60% full. Even though this 737 was in the old colors, the interior was in the current US Airways colors of grey and black (or is that dark blue?). Kind of dull but it was kept clean. The flight attendants were all young and very attractive. We pushed back on time and taxied out to Runway 9L were we took off behind a United 733 and followed a Southeasterly heading towards CLT. Inflight service was a "snack" which consisted of a box containing a small sandwich, some chips, a cookie and of course a cup of soda. Not bad but I was left wanting seconds. Flight was uneventful and we made a rather hard landing in CLT which of course was full of US Airways aircraft.

I walked across the terminal, picked up some pizza and sat down to wait for my flight. This one was the last one of the night to MCO and you could tell that this is definitely a leisure destination from the passengers waiting to board. A lot of families with kids excited to be going to Disney World. This flight was 100% full and it also had a very attractive female flight crew. I've gotta fly US Airways more often! We pushed back on time and departed behind a line of US Airways aircraft. The flight was relatively short, a little over an hour. Just a drink service on this one.We made another hard landing on Runway 18L in MCO and taxied in to Gate 52 ontime.
I spent most of my weekend in Orlando at the airport. Taking pictures of aircraft at MCO and SFB as well as touring Virgin Atlantic 747's and a jetBlue A320. All in all it was a good weekend.

This was an early flight so I had to get up at around 0500 to get to the airport in time for the 0640 departure. This flight was about 90% full. Another on-time pushback and a quick takeoff on runway 18L. Another snack flight and on-time arrival into CLT. Again I had to trek across the terminal to my connecting flight.

This flight boarded on-time and pushed back on-time also. My third flight on the 734, the other two being on the now defunct Pro Air. It feels just the same as any other classic 737 with the exception of the -200. We taxied ahead of a US 757 and a TWA 717 and took off. The flight was uneventful but I was expecting a breakfast that never came. All we got was a drink service. I was a bit disappointed about that. We started our descent into Chicago from the south and flew up the shore of Lake Michigan before turning west on finals to ORD. We flew alongside a United 727 approaching Runway 27R. We started out behind the 727 but evenutally caught up to it and landed first on 27L. We actually arrived 30 minutes early and had to wait for our gate to open. After 10 minutes we were able to taxi into Gate F10.
Overall my experience on US Airways was good. Pretty much the same as on any other US major carrier. I'd definitely fly them again.
