Thu Jan 24, 2002 11:40 pm

January 18th, 2002
NK1265
Dept ACY @ 3:55pm
Arrival FLL @ 6:16pm ***ON TIME***
MD-80

It was great flying out of ACY check in was quick as well as security. Boarding started @ 3:20pm
Service was a bag of Pretzels and a beverage the flight was full every seat was taken on this flight. I like spirits new seat covers they are a Dark blue with white red and light blue spots.

We arrived in Fll @ 6:16pm I think it was gate H2 and the flight to SJU was leaving from gate H3 I know it was next to the gate we arrived.

NK751
Dept from FLL @ 7:30pm
Arrival in SJU @ 11:00pm Actual 10:45pm
MD-80

This flight was excellent took off on time and the flight attendants were great. The service consisted of a Snack Pack. Which contain 2 packs of bread-stix a small container of cheese, a bag of raisins, and a Quaker Apple bar, and a small bag of Oreo cookies which contain 2 cookies. Better than what you get on American Airlines. Started our descend in Puerto Rico we came in thru Aguadilla which is North West of the Island and followed the coast all the way into the San Juan Area. Landing was perfect it was scattered clouds with a light sprinkle here and there. Only problem on this flight was that I bought myself and my friend a cocktail we order 2 Vodkas with cranberry. which were $4.00 a piece I told the flight attendant if they had change since I had a $20.00 bill he said that they had change. When he came back he brought $2.00 change for me I said that's inposibble I gave you a $20.00 bill he said I gave him a $10.00 bill thats why he gave me $2.00 back all I know the Lead F/A came back very nice girl and said to please excuse the F/A but they still say you gave them a $10.00 bill I told them if that's the case which I even showed her my wallet that all I had were $20.00 bills and why would I asked them if they had enough change for a $10.00 when i would only get back $2.00 when in reality I gave them a $20.00 and should have gotten back $12.00
and the flight was not even full only 60 Pax on board I know you can't get that distracted. Thats was my only problem anyway the lead F/A gave me my $12.00 back she said once they closed the liquor box that they would figure it out. They never mention anything to me after that. Lead F/A VERY PROFESIONAL AND POLITE

Departure from SJU 7:45am
Arrivial in FLL @ 9:30am actual arrival 9:10am
MD-80

Departure from SJU was excellent took off and made a quick left and followed the coast line of puerto rico Beautifull Day to fly. The service consisted of same a Snack pack with everything from the FLL-SJU portion but instead of the Oreo Cookie we had a Sweet sugary cookie with an almond in the middle. I'm surprised Spirit now has the coffe mate half-half  Smile. Before they had the powder creamers  Sad
we landed on time in Fll our departure back to ACY was not until 11:15am
so just walked around the airport for a while

NK262
FLL dept: 11:15am
ACY Arrival : 1:50pm Actual 1:43pm
MD-80

Not much to say on time departure VERY FRIENDLY F/A all the flight attendants were based in Fort Lauderdale except for Flight 1265 on the 18 of January that was a ACY Crew.
the service was nice had a Beverage and the snack was a bag of Ritz cheese crakers. Very good. Landing in ACY was smooth and weather was clear skies gorgeous day you could see Atlantic City the casinos clear from the air.

Overall I would fly this route again only thing I would change is the time I would take the Morning flight from ACY arriving in SJU @ 2:25pm Instead of 11:00pm and I would take the 3:25pm dept from SJU back to ACY

We only flew Spirit twice, in 1997
DTW-ACY-MYR and MYR-ACY-DTW. Aircraft were:
N132NK, N969NK, and N131NK (all DC-9-30s)
Do you know if they are still using these three?
Due to flooding at ACY on the way home, we took off with flares lighting the way. It was either take off early...with flares...or scuttle the flight and spend the night in Atlantic City...or at ACY. Our son graduated from USMC and we drove from MYR down to South Carolina.
It was a few years ago but we had excellent cabin service on Spirit. Great F/As. Enjoyed your report.

I know for a fact that NK131 is still flying since that is a DC-9-40 version. As a ex Spirit F/A I worked on that aircraft as well as NK130 which is also a DC-9-40 I like the galley on these 2 A/C they were wide. and carried 127 pax instead of the regular DC-9-30 which carried 117 pax the Spirit Fleet anyway. Hope I could answer your question.

Last few questions...promise. Where were you based and where did Spirit F/As train? How long with the company?

Trained in Detroit
Based in Atlantic City:
Qualified on the MD-80 and the DC-9
Worked from June 1998 to Sept 1999
**Now the training is done in FLL**
That's nice when I went back for recurent training during that year working for them it was still in DTW. I would love to do my recurent in FLL

Please feel free to ask any question. I don't mind.  Smile
