Well, sadly, my hopes of flying Midwest Express were dashed when they (my parents) were about to order the tickets, they found a great deal on Northwest Airlines (BLASTED!!!...$280 roundtrip per person...please note..NOTHING against NWA...just was hoping to try MWE).
Anyway, I know the flights are
The LAS-MSP flight is operated by an A320, but the MSP-MKE flight is operated by what NWA calls an 32V (I assume that is also an A320?).
Then on the way back
The MKE-MSP flight is operated by a DC-9-50 and the MSP-LAS flight is operated by an A320.
As I know NWA isn't highly regarded by many on these forums, I have never been horrified by them. HONESTLY, I will fly just about anyone if that means I can soar above the clouds! Isn't that why we come here, because we love flying?? Who cares with whom it is.
Anyway. I also get to take a friend with me! WOOO!! Since my dad can only stay for 2 days (we are going up for a wedding, but staying to see family and friends in the Dells where we used to live) my mother, me, and my friend will visit and stay with friends around Portage, Madison, and Baraboo. But my friend and I will get to go enjoy the waterparks in the Dells! (too bad the restaurant we used to own isn't the same as it was...quality wise).
But, I do want to know if I should be expecting anything from my flights. This is the first flight EVER (yes, he is 20 years old and has never, ever been in an airliner) for my friend (what can I say..the farthest east he has been is Utah!!) so I want to make sure the experience is enjoyable for him. Are the A32 on these flights newer? Anything would be appreciated. I haven't connected in MSP since I was about 8 so I don't remember it very well, but I do rememver DTW (yuck). How is MSP for connections? I assume we won't be eating anything on the plane, so how is the food selection at MSP?
But, if you read my last trip report (LAS-MKE via IAH on Continental) I will try and recreate the same thing this time, only on NWA.
Also, I am a Onepass member, can I get miles on NWA or no, since they codeshare with CO often.
I will present an unbiased and objective view on NWA when I take the flights in June.
