Report , Vienna - Madrid

Sun Jun 02, 2002 2:53 am

The spain trip started for me last year , on Nov 21th on my " Homebase " Vienna.

My Departure Time was 17:40pm.
It was very snowy in Vienna this days and so I hoped , that Spain had a better weather.
I walked to the Check-In counters and give my baggage away.
I checked-in for flight OS-8899 / JK-164. The plane was waiting at Gate B40. At the beginning , I thought , that I flew with the normally used MD-83 from Spanair , but instead a B 717-200 from AeBeal ( EC-HUZ ) was waiting for us.
 Laugh out loud

This would have been my 1st flight with a B 717 !
When I got on the plane , I sat down on my seat ( A12 ).
At 17:42pm the plane was pushed back and taxied to Runway 16.
We were Number two for Departure. In front of us a Lauda Air B 737-800 lined up. Around 17:51 we were lining up @ Rwy. 16 and I loved flying this short Boeing version still from this moment. The engines gave full power and a powerful take off followed.  Nuts

Arrival time at Madrid - Barajas was around 20:50pm.
During the flight over the Alps and over France , I enjoyed a cup of coffee.
Around 19:30pm , high over Spain , we flew through heavy turbolences.
I looked out of the window and saw dark clouds everywhere.
So I leaned back in my seat and sleeped a little bit.
I woke up , when the gears went down. We were already apporoaching MAD.
I looked out of the window a second time and feel sick...
RAIN !!! It was raining heavily...  Sad

After a hard landing at Barajas , we taxied to Terminal 1. The I was waiting for my baggage and went to a taxi, wich brought me to my hotel in Madrid.

Well, it was not my favourite flight , but the Boeing 717 is a great plane !!

Thanks for reading my report.
I hope you enjoyed it.

No, If you want to , you can eat also something.
But I were eating in the Airport Restaurant before a good meal , so I doesn´t need something during the flight.
