This is my first trip report. This trip happened about two months ago, so I will give you all I remember.
Departure City: Columbus, OH (Port Columbus International Airport)
Arrival City: Cincinnati, OH (Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky International Airport)
Airline: Delta Airlines
We arrived at the Columbus airport in our cab ready for a day long of flying. We, refering to my parents and I. Since on every flight we had at least one first class seat, we could leisurly stroll by the already disgrunted people waiting in the coach check-in, to the fist class/ medallion check in. We went through securtiy of Concourse C to gate C2A as the terminal was not yet finished. From here I had a view of the north runways and watched a couple America West CRJ's arrive from the east coast. Again, because of our one first class seat we all boarded when first class called. For this short leg, I was given the 'pleasure' of first class. I had a glass of tomato juice and handed it to the FA as we taxied out for depature. From my window I watched a United A320 rev its engines and glide into the air headed for Chicago, then we were next. Our flight altitude was assigned to 9,000ft as the captain informed us and flight time of around 19 minutes. I looked out the window as we soared over the OSU campus, over my house, and into the low clouds. It gets a bit bumpy as we enter the Cinncy airspace. We were cleared straight in the Cinncy's eastern most runway (sorry dont have the #). We landed and quickly cleared for the Delta 757 on our tail. We taxied into concourse B and took our gate.
Departure Airport: Cincinnati, OH (Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky International Airport
Arrival Airport: San Francisco, CA (San Francisco International Airport)
Airline: Delta Airlines
We had a short connection and jumped on the train over to concourse A. We boarded the flight but this time I was about seven rows back in coach. We taxied to the runway in which we had just previously landed on and were behind two Comair CRJ's and one Delta 757. We lifted off quickly and once we gained some altitude made our westernly turn. The sky was clear soon and I watched the airposts below us (Louisville, Springfield, ect.). The sun was becoming visible in the horizon about to set. Out dinner was served which was a tiny piece of chicken with string beans and gravy. And the usualy rock hard roll and a few pieces of lettuce, I believe they called it a salad. Anyway I read a little in my book and when i next looked down we were over the Rockies. I watched the beautiful terrain in the setting sun while trying to get a little sleep. Evenytually we were in the busy bay area with Oakland visible on the left as we kind of follow the outline of the bay curving in SFO. We touched down and exited quickly as there seemed to be an endless line of 'fireflies' behind us. We taxied to the Delta terminal.
Departure Airport: San Francisco, CA (San Francsico International Airport)
Arrival Airport: Hong Kong (Hong Kong International Airport)
Airline: Singapore Airlines
In SFO we were here about six pm and the flight didnt leave until 1:40 am. We went to the International Terminal and since the Singapore lounge was closed we got to go to the United lounge. It was a long lounge with a lot of magazines and just a small vegetable plate layed out, not impressive. We had a view of the tarmac and watched the United planes continously filter in and out. Then at around ten we transferred to the Singapore lounge, which lacked in view but more than made up for in food. I treated myself to dumplings, sandwich, milano cookies, sushi, and other goodies while I watched a Yankee's game. Finally, we left to head out for the gate. The security was mobbed with the 744 going out the other two from Asiana and Eva. I went down the escalator to the boarding area and it was mobbed with people, looked like a mess with baggage and bodies. We were all in business this flight on the upper deck. We boarded and went up the straight stair case, wishing it was still a spiral. We took our seatsand oprdered our meal. It was first a shrimp cocktail, then mushroom stuffed chicken breast followed by fruits and cheeses. Being really tired, I fell asleep after climbout from SFO. I woke up when we were mid way over the pond and watched Monsters Inc. on the screen. As soon as I seemed to move the Fa's were all over me offering water and snacks, sure wasn;t used to that kind of service. I went back to bed but woke up because of turbulence over Taiwan and read my book until breakfast where I had an mushroom, tomato, onion omellete. We then were on final for Hong Kong. We touched down and taxied in next to a Cathay 744 and a united 744. We would spend the day in Hong Kong, until later that evening when we would continue on to SIN.
Thanks for reading, I know it is long. Let me know what you liked. I can give you the rest of the 15 segment trip report including Vietnam Airlines and Siem Reap AIrways International when we were the only people on the flight.
