October 16, 2002
The day started early in the afternoon when I arrived at the airport for a 2:10pm flight to Atlanta. As I arrived at Gate B3 at 1:00pm, the Delta 757 was already there. N672DL was the aircraft we were about to board. They start the call about 1:40pm with the first class boarding. I was in the back of the plane but I don't like to board the plane too early. So I waited until the last second to board, and since I had checked all my baggage, I didn't have to worry about finding room for my baggage. The door closed and we begin the pushback at 2:20pm. We took 10 minutes to taxi to runway 2L. At 2:30 the engines begin spool up and we lifted off at 2:30. The captain came on and told us it would be 36 minutes down to Atlanta. But didn't mention the altitude we flew at, my guess is, it was about 24000ft. After a short cruise, we begin our decent and landed at 4:10pm. The landing was tricky for it was a direct cross wind at about 15kts. We landed on 26R and arrived at the gate B12 @ 4:18pm. It was a great flight and very smooth landing despite the winds. We departed the plane and started walking to our next gate. We were at Gate T4 for our next flight.

I had never been to the T Gates in Atlanta. It was very nice and seemed like they have just redid it. We were on a 767-400 N833MH for the next portion of our jouney. It was already at the gate when we got there, the planes looks huge when you were standing up in front of it. Again I like to wait until everyone has boarded before I board. After I boarded, they closed the door shortly after that. We pushed back at 5:30pm. Since we were in the T gates, we had to taxi to the other end for 27R departure. It took 20 minutes before we left and we took off at 5:50. It was a smooth climb out and we leveled at FL350 for the 1:30 flight down to Ft Lauderdale. We begin our decent about 6:55 and pass through some puffy white clouds which shook the plane a little, but other then that, it was very smooth flight. The joy of the flight was watching a UPS 767 pass about 2000ft below us. I was going to take a picture but my battery in my camera died (Sorry). We touched down at 7:17pm exactly when we were scheduled. I deboarded and went to get my luggage and a rental car to drive to my parents. Both flights were outstanding and I am looking forward to the return trip. I will have another report when I get home. I hope you all enjoy then trip report.

Flying From Nashville

Hey Kevin --

Nice report. I've flown BNA-ATL many, many, many times. A couple of years ago DL had a 767 on the mid-PM departure.

Where do you go to school in Nashville?
