HP126 PHX-MKE
B737-300
A/C 326
Seat 2D First Class
Scheduled departure 4:04pm
Actual Departure 3:58pm
Scheduled Arrival approx 8:25pm
Actual Arrival 7:50pm

Since this flight was nowhere near full when I checked in I was cleared for a coach seat 4F, about 5 minutes into boarding the gate agent called me to the countr and cleared me for first class seat 2D. We pushed from the gate early and the pilots did a very fast taxi to the center runway in Phoenix. We took off to the west and were in the air at 4:15pm. The pilots came on the PA as we climbed through 18,000 feet up to our cruise of 33,000 feet. Except for the initial climbout of PHX the rest of the flight was smooth and the seat belt sign was turned off for most of the flight. The pilots on this flight were very informative coming on several times with updates on the flight and the flight attendants which I knew are some of the best HP has to offer. The first class meal consisted of either shrimp and pasta or chicken and pasta. With apple pie as dessert. I had the chicken and pasta which was very good. The apple pie they served was very good, one of the best apple pies I have had. After dinner I took an nap, since the PHX-MKE runs are now all on 737's theres not a whole lot to do as the 737's don't have inflight entertainment, after my nap I started to read a little. The pilot came on about 7:00pm local Milwaukee time advising us that we would be on the ground at approx 7:45 about 30 minutes early. There was a excellent tailwind pushing us along at 589 miles per hour per the pilot. We had a smooth landing at 7:45 and were at the gate at 7:50. After spending a week in Phoenix in the low 80's it was a bit of a shock with temp's in the low 30's. The flight was excellent as was the service. Tomm I get to do it all over again as I have to go back to Phoenix for another week.

Nice report, a few questions. New livery, old livery or a special one? Was anyting else served with the meal? (Roll, salad, fruit etc)

It was the new livery, HP no longer has any aircraft painted in the old colors. There was a roll served with the meal but I didnt eat it. The aircraft also had the new interior in coach. This particular aircraft is also a non-standard config of 118 in coach and 8 in first. Standard HP config is 126/8 for the 737's.
