Full Trip Report, BUF,MCO,FLL,BUF

Sat Jan 04, 2003 12:07 pm

Hey,

Just got back from my first Delta Airlines trip and it was great. Flew out of Buffalo NY with Delta on Friday December 20th with the MD-88 to Atlanta, it was a great flight, friendly flight attendents and clean aircraft. Took my first 767-400 trip from Atlanta to Orlando and it was very smooth. 767-400 is an excellent aircraft and I dont mind flying on it in the future. I am an A330 person but I have to admit the 764 took off and landed alot smoother than the A330. Today I returned from Florida flying out of FLL to ATL with the 767-400 and once again it was a great flight. While at FLL there was a Northwest 747 there which was surprising. Then I took a CRJ from Atlanta to BUF and it was my first jet ride. Very nice.

Overall I like Delta Alot

regards,

You saw a Northwest 747? Why on earth was a NW 747 at that airport. Is it even possible for 747's to land at FLL?

NWAgoldelite:
You must be new to airliners. Welcome. FLL is a major international airport and very capable of landing jumbo jets including the most fully loaded 747-400.

Mike-
Interesting......I didn't know that a 747-400 jumbo jet could land at FLL. But on the issue of a 747 even being at FLL is hard to imagine. I fly between SEA-FLL on NW every month and I do not know of any service with a NW 747 out or in of FLL. The question is still unanswered. Does anyone know why a NW 747 was at FLL?

I think you mean your first regional jet ride (or CRJ ride). You took at leats three jet trips prior to the ATL-BUF on the MD-88 and two 767-400's!

Glad you had fun.

NWAgoldelite- I'm pretty sure the NW 747 was a charter for the Orange bowl. I'm not 100% positive but I recall seeing this very topic in another forum. I don't believe that 747's are a common visitor to FLL. The main rwy is 9,000' and that's long enough for a 747 but not a fully fueled one.
