FLL-YUL On January 10th- Air Canada Tango

Sun Jan 12, 2003 6:25 am

our flight (airbus 320) left FLL in time at 20:30 pm yesterday almost full. 90 min later, the officier asked if there was a doctor on board. One old woman had big problems.

they started to make her some "pressure" on the thorax (excuse the english expression). it seems to be crtical because we suddenly feels the aircraft slowing with his speed brake (time was around 10 -10:15 pm). I was almost certain they would divert the flight to a US airport.

I was amost certain we would land shortly ; the aircraft was shaking like I had never seem in my life. suddenly, the captain start to speak and annonce that we would land in MONTREAL 45 min before schedule to give the old person to the emergency crew at DORVAL...

don't think that they took their time (like usual) to drop slowly from normal altitude to the groud. they made everything very rapidly.

could you think of a flight schedule for 3h15 min to arrive AT THE GATE in 2h30 min ??

does it put more stress on the aircraft ?
how much fuel it takes more ?

finally, after a 30 min wait on the aircraft (the doctor seems not to be able to help the women) we run out of the aircraft...

any of you at aircanada knows if the person run OK at the hospital ?

daniel

p:s: hope my english is OK..

I work in FLL/MIA for AC and will ask about this incident.

In regards to the flight time, there are ways to speed up the flight. I've been on a JetBlue FLL-JFK flight that was only in the air for 1 hour 50 minutes (standard flight time is 2:20-2:30).

They probably flew direct to YUL...
