ZRH-MUC-INN-ZRH 16/01/03 due to next week
On Tuesday 14th of january I tried to book a one way tkt out of ZRH for 16th of january online. Unfortunatly for nearly all airlines flying out of ZRH it isn’t possible to book it online as e-tkt.
I tried it at eurowings website (very well done) and I was very satisfied that a BUS tkt costs only 10 EUR more than ECO so I choose this one and than I could also choose a seat in an virtual CRJ (I chosed 2F first row window in the little CRJ), typed in my credit card number and than – end of story – because no etkt available and the time was to shoreten for mail service – well I called EW and they finished my booking manually (which indicated that I had to go to the LH counter before departure to fetch a proper paper tkt). Flight itself would be done by LH CityLine and that this case might cause problems on Thursday I heard the next day. So woke up earlier than necessary on Thursday and called LH in germany but without success (I think too many people tried it because LH and many daughter company where on strike this day) so tried to reach the phone number in ZRH which Unique ZRH airport webpage indicated – no problem – but I was a little bit estonished to hear proper fine oxford english on the other side of the line, but switched to english too gave the lady my flight number and listened that it should be on time (tres-bien).
Went to the airport by bus and train like usual and half an hour earlier than planned because of the strike and the fact that I needed to fetch my tkt.
Like expected a big queue at the LH counter (FRA flights cancelled and the MUC “good morning” flight more than one hour delayed, but this wasn’t mine so no problem to me)
I asked the queue if they “only2 wanted to rebook their tkt and told them that I had only to fetch one and moved straight ahead to the girls on the other side of the counter, told them my PNR and name and showed them my passport that I am I. Well get my tkt and as usual she asked me if I have only carry on baggage I asked yes and she checked me in – wait asked me before which seat and I answered the booked one.
Went threw the passport control with plenty of time and it was unusual fast for terminal B then to the duty free shop in the area of terminal B and baught some cigarettes as usual. Then still plenty of time left so I choosed for myself to enter LH lounge (it’s now in the area of new terminal C and I wasn’t there before and – how bad – I had no camera with me – from LH lounge you have perfect view to the taxiway and rwy 14). Although my boarding pass indicated that the like to start boarding at 10:20 the girls at the lounge told me when I leave at 10:30 it should be early enough (second coffee and juice for free J
At 10:30 I moved to C12 where we should have our bus-boarding (with carry on baggage like a donkey – one trolley and one backpack for my notebook which has more than 6 kg – only the notebook and some accessories for it !)
Like the week before (4U for CGN I wrote here already) some flights for former yougoslavia where boarding at the gate nearby so also this pax had to use the same security line (the week before I saw that the spend a lot of time with two young girls and a child in it’s buggy leaving for Pristina I think – anyway it was a city of former yougoslavia but I’m not hundred percent sure if ti was pristina, and I moved quickly after them and they didn’t use any box for my coat and it lokked like afterwards I weared it in some war …. This week I had gotten the knowledge why ….). I waered some city boots with zip and the asked me if I had some metal things with me – I refused and the forced me to gave them my boots (nice to go with socks where all others before weared snowy boots – or say the feeling with wet socks is a special thing) and they putted my boots exactly there where they put my coat without box – then I asked them If they feel real good – wasn’t a good idea – airport police (I thing so or better the swissport girl I asked afterwards told me that they belong to the airport police) came quickly to me (the same guy who threat the two grils from yougoslavia the week before) and aksed me which language I speak – I answered “GERMAN” then he riped my tkt out of my purse – and told “ah Munich” I answered him “Munich, yes and …?” afterwards he wanted to see my passport (I think he hoped for the same of the two girls ….) then he said “ahhh Austria” and I got two feets taller then naturally and asked him if he had something against – and he asked me if I want to stay there and I told him that I want to leave this guestful, nice country as fast as possible – and moved myself to the gate and told the swissport girl the whole story she agreed with me that this was nonsense (from security) but that she isn’t reponsible (meanwhile ZRH airport police should have my letter with both stories).
Bus-boarding without any troubles in the CRJ (LH 5531 10:50 ZRH) the FA took my coat carefully and I smiled to avoid loud laughing (it was dirty again like ….).
Nice flight with sometimes really good few outside and very friedly FA’s (both female)
And landing in MUC on time (but the coffee onboard is bad like it was ever – only KLM have bad coffee than LH has …).
Passport in munich was faster than ever before and I moved myself to the train towntown munich to leave my baggage at some friend before trying to get a contract with Siemens in Munich.
Well, left my luggage at Jurgens home and told him that I would be back half past four or five. Of course, the feeling for a business meeting with that coat was special (I don’t know if they saw it but I knew it and that’s bad enough).
On the road back to Jurgen I tried to call him but he didn’t answer and I expect that he might be on the toilette or so but he din’t open the door when I arrived which isn’t normal in the case that I had my luggage in his dwelling. A nice young guy let me in and I tried again at his door a few minutes later I heard some noise from outside which indicated that he sould be very sick (and I knew that he is diabetics), tried to get some neighbours out but without any success but I found the housekeeper which has unfortunatly no key, but she was also my opinion that it sounds like somebody is in the dwelling, a few seconds after the sound stoped I called the poilice and told them the story, without any discussion the guy told me that he will send me help very fast and I promised him to go outside that they could find the door. Nerly the same time a ambulance arrived and I thought oh god how fast but it was for the house vis-à-vis where a man had a heart attack but only few minutes later the police arrived and was also estonished about the ambulance (told them my knowledge) and we moved to the door they asked me if I am very sure he is inside and looked how it would be possible to came into without having a key – then the terrible noise again and the female police girl told her collegue (male) to open the door – never thought how fast you can open a door ! (he wasn’t that tall) and they found my friend under the dish in the kitchen (it seemed that he tried to ate some pizza but it was to late) ambulance came quickly and they (ambulance AND police – yes, they police had to help) needed half an hour until my friend was “on the earth” again (he told me he tought some aliens tried to move him somewhere …) and afterwards they repaired the door ! (the fireman which wheren’t necessary anymore for opening the door but the repaired it – nice !) and since this day I knew that this poilicemen where deeply underpaid (I myself couldn’t see it, because it looked terrible), but special nice and quick, of course !
The next day I moved sometimes before noon to the main train station in Munich to try to get a ticket (MUC-INN-ZRH on my swiss half price card but with possility to stay soemtime in INN) – I could tell you I took long, but I got it before departure of the train youpi
Clean modern waggons (two from DB and the others from italian train transportation)
also for second class (I baught a cheap second class tkt all for 45 EUR).
Arriving in INN nearly on time and entered a taxi for going home – my daddy in law made me coffee and listened all that stories. Had a nice week in INN (meeting old friends but not for skiing because I had no proper clothes with me – I planned one day in INN and stay 7 ! ok baught a sweater and some T-shirts in a store nearby)
Then entered on Friday the “good morning” train to ZRH (and the sign indicated in big letters that the train is operated by OEBB and not SBB and not mixed). And it was fine for second class (second class with power for laptops wow).
And although the WEF meeting was in Davos no passport controll (no controll!) until arriving in ZRH (and there of course also nothing because the train stops in Buchs and Sargans.
After having a meeting at ZRH main train station with an real english gentlemen (old school) I moved back to Spreitenbach where I wrote today this trip report.
Wish all a nice (rest-) Sunday and a good week
