Buzz // STN-CDG

Fri Jan 31, 2003 12:46 am

Buzz UK2278 STN - CDG Friday Jan 24 (all times local)
STD 1910
STA 2125

Checkin very fast and efficient, as usual with Buzz
My nightmare in STN was the security, especially on Fridays, around 5pm, with all the Ryanair passengers.
I have been very pleased to see that they have opened more security gates. As a result, it took me only 15 to 20 minutes to go through. Allowing me plenty of time for shopping.
Around 1820, it took the internal metro. I like it very much. It gives you the feeling that you are in a very big airport, until you realize your satellite is just 50 to 100 meters in front of the main building, and that it would be faster to walk if there was a bridge....

From the boarding area, I observed the movement on the ramp and noticed the late arrival of my plane. However, due to the efficiency of the staff and a low loadfactor (around 60% instead of the normal 98% on this flt) the boarding finished early enough to have an on time departure.

This flt is short. Then, as soon as the seat belt light is off, the F/A start the service.
It is a low cost, then you have to pay for everything. But prices are reasonable. This time, I took nothing. But usually, when I take a morning flight, I take a coffee. For only 1.50 GBP, you have a filter pot of real coffee.(instead of nescafe on most of the airlines)

No circles around CDG. Then we landed early, and arrived at 2110 at CDG1.
I was prepared for my usual nightmare at CDG1 with this flight: Long line at the passport control, because it is a late flt and you have only 1 or 2 policemen, and after that, 40 minutes to collect the luggage.

First surprise: As the first pax arrived, more policemen arrived, and control has been very fast.

Second surprise: the luggage arrived very fast . As a result, at 2128, I was in the taxi !!
For those who know CDG1, I think you will be as surprised as me.

I am very sad that Buzz will replace the BAE146 by 737

Good report.

Would you prefer flying to CDG with Buzz or BA?

LPL, for my job, I would prefer to fly from CDG to STN.
Buzz was the only airline. And O'leary will stop it in April.
So.... If BA wants to start this flt, that's good for me.

For such a short flt, you don't really care about service. especially in eco.
For other destinations in the UK, or longer flts, I have already enjoyed BA.
