I got to the airport and checked in using the easyCheck-In machines curbside. They've now been upgraded to allow NRSA check-in. Makes things a heck of a lot easier. Received my DM card, went in to the employee security checkpoint (all of the others were just plain bad). Quickly through and to my gate. Peeked around at our other Express flights down South and a flight to LAX, as my BUR flight was over by 5 and I wasn't sure if I was going to get on. I went to the remote terminal and checked in with the agents there... turns out the flight isn't heavily checked-in. Yay!

I sit down and wait patiently... watch some television, watch other flights boarding. I peeked out of the window and saw one of our jets painted in this way cool livery (that everyone here on a.net likes). I checked with the agents... and sure enough, that was the Burbank jet! I wanted so badly to fly on that one...

Eventually, they started boarding. I got called up soon after and got a boarding pass for 12C. Cool, aisle seat, back of the plane (so I can help with crossing seatbelts on my way out). I boarded and we walked out to that beauty. Debbie the flight attendant was very pleasant, welcoming all of us on board. At first it looked really empty, but then some more people got on and it departed with just a few open seats.

We pulled out right on time, and taxiied out of our parking position of 1 Bravo into the alleyway between rows 2 and 3 and out onto the active taxiway. The taxi took a few minutes, and we lined up with 1L. The takeoff roll began, and it was powerful. We rocketed down the runway and took off smooth as silk. We turned out over the Pacific Ocean and flew over it for a while, coming in over Monterey and down the Salinas Valley and into the Central Valley. Debbie came through the cabin with snacks and beverages, served with a smile.

A few passengers wanted to use the restroom while she was serving, but they had to wait until she was finished (well, not completely). We came in over the Tehachapis and into the LA Basin. It was slightly hazy as we descended into the basin. We landed in BUR right on time. The runways are so close to the terminal! Anyways, we pulled into Gate B3. The passengers deplaned, and I helped with seatbelts before deplaning. I walked around the airport a bit (it's a little bit of a dump).

I then got to Beverly Hills where my friend was, and we hung out and walked around for a couple hours. Then it was time to get to LAX for his flight to AKL and my flight back to SFO.

I checked in with easyCheck-In again, and went through security. I walked up to the TSA person with a smile and said hello. She said, "If only all of my passengers walked up to me with a smile!"  Smile I cleared security like a charm, and took the short walk to Gate 70B. I changed from my shorts back into my corduroy pants I wore for travelling. I got seat 5F, with the entire half row to myself.

We took off, and became airborne really quickly. The ground disappeared right as we neared Terminal 8 as we dove into the marine layer, and then a quick flash of the ground again as we passed Terminal 5 (Delta), but then LAX disappeared forever as we broke out of the marine layer and out into the beautiful Pacific sunset evening.

The flight was uneventful. We lined up for landing in SFO, and did a dual landing with a company (SkyWest) CRJ arriving from SMF. It was way cool to watch it land right next to us. We landed and arrived at Gate 81 a couple of minutes early.

Short trip, short report. I promise to pay a little bit more attention next time, but it'll be a longer trip anyways Big grin

Head in the clouds... yet feet planted firmly on the ground.

Kai, I was in BUR last weekend, and oddly enough I sat in 12C also. Weird.

I was in LA from May 24 to 27th. I drove to BUR to see around Burbank airport in the morning before I leave LAX flight afternoon. Sorry I missed you in LA. Hope you had a good time in LA. This is my first time in LA.
