CO / KMCO), USA - Florida">MCO-CLE
The trip down to FL really surprised me. The a/c and flights were amazing...the return trip is somewhat a different story.
Checking in in CO / KMCO), USA - Florida">MCO was a breeze, the kiosks make is so easy. Also going though CO / KMCO), USA - Florida">MCO security took about 5 minutes. Granted, it was through in that short amount of time. I had to take off my thin, light adidas sandals and walk though the detector barefoot...ummm, honestly, what could I conceal in a pair of sandals? A stick of gum? Whatever, got though quickly and thats all that mattered.
We departed CO / KMCO), USA - Florida">MCO on-time and thats all there is to say about CO / KMCO), USA - Florida">MCO.
The 733 is a different story. When I first boarded I saw that the seats were slimline so I thought this meant a little more pitch...WRONG. My legs were hitting the seat in front of me as soon as I sat down.
The next problem was that ever-present satanic flight attendant. She was about 4'10", blonde hair, glasses and enough attitude to make the devil himself take a second look. The woman sitting across the aisle from me had her bag under the seat infront of her. It was quite bulky, but clearly fit entirely under the seat. THAT FA walked by three times and just looked at the bag. The woman in the seat said, 'believe me its under there all the way, after flying a lot this year I've learned how much will fit under there.' The FA responded with, 'well I guess you didn't get it right this time, your gonna have to move it now.' Well the woman did and she complained for most of the flight about it.
When that same FA was doing the safety demo her voice got so annoying. I didn't think she was going to stop. At one point during the flight when the captain was talking about flight levels and arrival times she decided to make an annoucement about the fasten seat belt sign still being lit because a father had to bring his young son to the restroom (we all know kids really cant hold it too long). She completely blocked out the pilot. And at random points through the flight she drove the drink cart into me twice...she really was an exceptional woman (sarcasm)
Anyway, the other FA's were very nice. One FA thought she spilled coffee on my leg and kept apologizing over and over even though nothing happend.
My next problem was the reclining seats. I don't think I've ever seen a seat in economy recline as far as the ones on CO do. I mean the guy in front of me could have just laid on my lap, there wouldn't have been any difference. Thankfully, he only had it reclined for a short amount of time.
The arrival into CLE was a little rough due to some wind gusts. I was just thankful to get off the plane and stretch out.
When we were in CLE I was very impressed with the airport. I was not what I was expecting. By looking at the maps on continental.com I got the feeling that it was going to be small and cramped. That wasn't the case. It was nice and very easy to move though. Also, concourse D was amazing. My only question is whats up with the gates on the lower level? I didn't see any a/c there. Do they even use them?
Anyway, at CLE I got to see a NW DC-9 in new colors and it wasn't too bad. The only thing is that it was already filthy behind the engines.
The flight to ALB was fine, and very nice. I'm beginning to like the ERJ's quite a bit. They are very comfortable.
We departed CLE on time and followed the lake until we hit NY. We then flew across the Southern Tier and across the finger lakes. Our FA (Cat) was very nice and accomodating.
When we decended the clouds looked amazing. I've never seen them so layered. Plus the setting sun made for a nice approach.
The flight was short and we were at the gate 5 minutes early.
Overall, I enjoyed my CO experience. Granted the 733 flight was not the greatest, it could have been worse. Hopefully I'll be on CO again later this summer.
