PHL-LHR-FCO-LHR-PHL On BA & AZ

Tue Nov 11, 2003 9:07 am

Hey all just thaught Id post a report of my trip to Italy back in July here it goes:

we arrived at Phl at around 4:00 for a 7:00 flight to LHR. At BA'S check in some la dy that had a wide a**(who looked as if she would satisfy a blue wale)said,"how many bags." we said none. shes like,"is it under 6 kilos(12LBS). So we ended up checking in most of it OH WELL. Security was a breeze. we get to gate A12 and see our mighty 747-400. It looked so huge on the tiny ramp! so instead of reading books about Rome(boring)like my mom and her friends I went to do some spotting. I saw many US planes and an LH 763. at 6:15 BA 66 is ready to board. we board and are welcomed aboared by a freindly crew. The econemy seats are kind of like the ones on US A330's except PTV wasnt AVOD. After a powerful T/O we were served a drink and those breadsticks. heres what I had:

2 little cans of coke
BA'S tomato bread sticks.

after that I watched BBC world news. then dinner heres what I had:

ravioli with salad and bread.

I have to say BA'S food was very good. then I watched the film Meet The Parents. then somewear over the ocean we hit some mad turbulence. One F/A almost fell. It was fun. then we breakfast some kind of muffin and OJ. We got to LHR a little early.

now its time to go onto Italy. We check in for AZ 203 service to FCO. after waiting for our gate # we go to gate 10 and see our A321. It looked nice. we board and are welcomed aboard by a grumpy crew. after a real powerful T/O the entertainment came on, it was Tom & Jerry. We were served an exellent lunch:

Coke

assorted salami and cheese and bread as well.

over north Italy we got a great view of the alps and then a rough landing on RWY 25(I beleive) and an extemily long taxi to Terminal C (not sure what gate) we almost lost our luggage but it finally came after a long time.

For AZ 202 check in was good. Security was again a breeze. it was gate 29. I did some spotting and saw vaiouse AZ and Air One planes. Also an A320 of LH, AA 763, DL 772, And US 330 on stand. Then theres an anounsment that we will be switched to gate 27. Boardings delayed 15 minutes and we take a long bus ride to our A321. This time the crew was warm and freindly. This one F/A was very attractive and young. After yet another powerful T/O which was RWY 25 for sure we were served an exellent lunch which was the same as the way out. The entertainment was some stupid music video so I didn't watch it and instead looked at the inflight Magazine "ulisse" and my airliner world magazine. Landing was a bone crusher. I was afraid we were going to fall apart. Then to make everything worse I banged my head in the seatback. we taxied and pulled up next to an A319 of LX.

The beggining of this trip was eventful. after AZ 202 our travel partners had to reclaim luggage while my mom and I went to check in for BA 69 to PHL. heres some advice never get an E-ticket from BA your name will not show up on the computer. afer an hour of looking for our travel mates we never found them than we went to gate 19 and saw our plane a 777. I did the normal spotting. Then Jaquie and Chelsey our travel mates arrived. We boarded On time and were welcomed by a very very freindly crew. The 777 had notisibly more room in World Traveler then the 747 and slightly wider PTV's then captain Dave Burns welcomed us. this time the saftey proceder was done the old fasion way. The T/o was very sluggish and after a 34 second take off roll we had a very bumpy climb then smoothed out. Then I watched BBC world news with something about Liberia. Then we were served this:

1 can of ginger ale

BA Breadsticks

Then heres Lunch:

Chicken curry W/basmati rice and smocked salmon salid.

Once again BA has some good food. I then watched seinfeld and will and grace as well as Ed,Ed,and Eddy. halfway into the flight was a tiny trash fire. actully no one knew this but me because I was in a conversation with an F/A. toward the end of the flight we reiceived a refreshment:

1 can of coke
3 assorted sandwiches/fruit

After a 35 minute decent we touched down early and taxied to A12 at PHL.

I have to wonder, with your constant mentioning of the US 330's, why didn't you just get a ticket on one and eliminate LHR alltogether?
I'd rather be flying.
