I got to ride in first class on this flight. Right after the forward door had been closed and we were about to push back, this lady darts toward the cockpit from coach and started arguing with the captain. This went on for a few minutes past departure time and we were really getting pissed that this lady was delaying our flight griping to the captain that the F/A had touched her suitcase without her permission. The captain told her that they "could continue this conversation outside". The jetbridge rejoined the aircraft and the door opened. The lady and captain stepped off the aircraft for a few more minutes. About 10 minutes after scheduled departure time, they both come back on the aircraft and close the door. The lady sits down in her seat (still obviously ticked off) and we push back late.
All I can say is I was really surprised that the captain didn't just kick her rear end off his flight for making such a scene and delaying the flight. He was very professional towards her, a credit to this Delta crew, but far nicer than I would have been if I were the skipper! I didn't hear the conversation that took place outside the aircraft, but I can only imagine that he probably told her she better behave herself if she wants to take this flight!
We must have made up for lost time in the air because we still arrived on time in IAH.
