Took a trip on BA
with my newborn 4-month old son and my wife. I will just describe the experience we had on this round trip vacation.

Being an Executive Club member I tried checking us in 24-hours prior online but was unable due to my newborn son (we requested a bassinet). Checked in 3 hours early with no line at PHX
. Agent advised us that I had seat 26F (bulkhead with bassinet) and my wife had 27F!!! one row behind. I was not happy with this (long story short) but ended up giving us seats 26E & 26F. Also assigned us the seats for our LHR
. Proceeded to gate 25 and had the pleasure of seeing the BA
744 that was performing the (Audi I believe charter flight) next to our gate. Our 777 arrived and around 7pm boarding began. We proceeded to the gate where priority was given to passengers with disabilities and children. We rolled our son in stroller down the jet way to the aircraft, the onboard FA
advised us that there would be no room for our baby stroller onboard. He advised it would have to be gate checked and then claimed in GLA
. We asked if we could have it returned in LHR
because we were transferring from T4
to T1, he said "no" that couldn't be done. We boarded the airplane found our seats and they had plenty of leg room. Turned out that no one was in seat 26D so we were able to have all three seats together (3x3x3 config). Departed on time and short time later a drink service was served with a dinner. Dinner was "ok" at best, I had beef which was small chunks of beef in gravy with peas and mashed potatoes, and my wife had the chicken which she said was pretty good. In-flight entertainment was excellent with plenty of choices and the moving map was a nice feature. About 1 1/2 hours outside of LHR
breakfast was served (if you call it that). It was an "ALL
Day Deli" box that had a hockey puck sized sandwich, OJ, water, and a fruit bar. We arrived into the LHR
area with a small hold before a nice touchdown into LHR
. We then proceeded through custom & immigration and made our way to T1 for the flight to GLA

Boarded a bus to take us to the BA
A319 through the rear left side door. Flight was fairly empty and left right on time. The LCD
IFE screens showed our progress along the flight. "All Day Deli' was served, rather disappointing though. I was a very "small" selection of vegetables and a dip, that's about it. I missed the sandwiches these used to serve. Flight however was good with updates from the crew and we landed on time in GLA
. Proceeded to the baggage claim where our two checked bags came quickly although NO sign of the stroller. Went to baggage services and he advised us that it was in LHR
and we would have it later this afternoon. After arriving in Ardrossan we had not heard from BA
about the stroller. I phoned them and they advised me that they could now NOT locate it. They finally located it and would have it delivered tomorrow afternoon. It did indeed show up the next day however it was badly damaged. A few more phone calls later BA
advised that I could purchase a replacement and submit the receipts when we return to the USA.

Boarded the A320 and we as usual left bang on time! Very friendly crew and the screens popped down so we could watch the moving map (GREAT feature)! Breakfast was served and happens to be the BEST in-flight meal we've ever had on a flight!!! Great job BA
. Arrived in T1 and proceeded to T4
for the next flight to PHX

Shopped and waited in T4
for the announcement of the departure gate for our 777 home. We boarded the bus to a "hard" stand for our flight. ( I love this because you get to be out on the ramp and enjoy walking up the steps to the huge 777!!! Flight was good and "FULL." The flight departed over an hour late due to two passengers not showing up and then having their bags withdrawn from the aircraft. Once airborne lunch was chicken curry, strange to me for a flight from the UK to the USA but not bad. In-flight service was good with water & Orange juice offered throughout the flight. Little snacks were offered in the rear galley which was a nice feature. Later an afternoon sandwich ("All Day Deli") was served, which was excellent! Landed in PHX
and proceeded through customs & immigration which was the easiest for a USA arrival that I've ever experienced.
I still love the British Airways service and I wrote this only to give you a little insight into our travels. Apart from the damage to the stroller I would HIGHLY recommend BA
for international travel! The crews were the nicest in the industry and highly motivated and experienced. Hope you enjoyed this experience and sorry it was so long!!!
