Delta Air Lines ATL-MCO 7-31-2001

Sun Feb 29, 2004 9:26 pm

Hello all, This is a trip report on my return trip from the Delta Air Lines retirement party of their final L-1011. My Delta L-1011 tribute can be view here. http://www.airliners.net/discussions/trip_reports/read.main/12646/

Delta Air Lines
Boeing 757-200

Flt# n/a
ATL-MCO
10:05 PM-11:27 PM

Check-In: Dazed767 was with me on this flight. We were flying stand-by and the flight had over 80 seats open so we had no problem checking in. We requested exit row seats and got them without any problems.

Boarding: Boarding took about 5 minutes as we made out way into the aircraft w/ little difficulty. This 757 was one in Delta's classic colors with the blue pinstripe interiors. It was a very nice aircraft.

Flight: We took off from Atlanta to the east and then turned southbound. The weather was perfect as usual for that time of year in Georgia. In-Flight service came offering drinks and the snack pack. I had a coke and ate about half of the snack pack. Justin and I talked about the L-1011, Delta, and all kinds of other stuff. It was a very enjoyable flight with him, hopefully we can do it again. We touched down in Orlando on-time and I was attempting to take a few photos before a really RUDE male F/A started getting an attitude with us. I ignored him and was able to take a few shots of the cabin. After we deplaned he just happened to be walking w/ us and he acutally wasnt that bad, just needed a beer.

Overall: This was the best week of my life! I learned a lot of stuff, made a lot of new friends, and had some great experiences. Delta Air Lines did not dissappoint me, except for the rude F/A but their are a few bad apples in every company. Sadly this ways my last flight before the September 11th attacks  Sad I hope everyone has enjoyed my report.

Hey Dan, it seems like a whole other world and it wasn't even 3 years ago! That was an awesome day though wasn't it? I think every a/net user between Virginia and Florida showed up!!!

Good times, good memories...

Scotty, Too bad NWA didnt operate the L-1011, If they did we would still be able to fly on it for years to come.

Haha, yeah that was a cool flight. I still remember that take-off.....good lord, I've never been pushed back in my seat like that. Lemme rephrase what the F/A said "Hurry up, I have to look at this sh*t all day".

I think the reg# was N67_DL (I used to have a chart, but accidently deleted ALL my flight logs about 1 1/2 years ago  Sad )

I still have the boarding pass somewhere with the flight number on it, but I don't feel like searching haha. And yes we need to do it again....my days off right now are Thur/Fri  Smile

Dazed767, Ya I enjoyed that flight to. Those P&W's really kicked us back!!! I still havent had a takeoff like that since then. Ya, That was what the jackass F/A said. I dunno what his problem was, but I got the pics I needed. I have the registration number to, I just gotta dig for it.

My days off are currently Sun/Mon, However in advance I can req days off in advance now.
