Seat- 17 A. Flight 641 6:30 p.m.
My mom my dad and I arrived at terminal 4 at 4:00 for are KLM flight to ams. We walked into the beautiful terminal 4 and walked over to the check in counter. The line was very short whitch was nice and un-common for me on a international flight. When we got to the ticket counter are agent told us that the flight was way over booked. The plane could hold 292 people but was booked for 373! They asked us if we wanted to put on the latter flight (whitch was on a 747-300) we would get $300 and volutres for any partner airline. We said we would only do it if we got buesiness seats. So they said they would call apon us if needed. We went down the stairs to the duty free where we did a little spotting but due to the fact that it was so foggy we rly only saw are plane taxi in. Around 5 we began to make are way to are concourse. We got threw security and walked to are gate. There was no place to sit so we had to stand. The fog had gone away but was begging to come back. When the time came around 6:30 the plane wasnt even near ready to board. The gate agents told us that the plane had landed late due to the weather and that becuase of the fog they where taking things very slow. The loud speaker was very low so we coudnt rly hear anything. There was a Air India flight across the hall whitch began boarding and every one got confused on are flight. They thought are plane was ready to board so every one pilled to the door but the plane still wasnt ready. They finally started the pree boarding at 7:00. Are row was finally called so we went to join the long line. When we got inside the plane we found are seats and sat down. The leg room wasnt great but seat pitch was wonderful! The seats almost went all the way back. Are flight was finally ready to go. The fog was horrible so we couldnt see a thing. We taxied and took off behind a plane of course but the plane was not visable for my viewing. We took off and about 20 minutes into the flight they turned on the great IFE. I watched 7 movies within the whole flight. I soon found out that the seat pitch may have been relaxing but when the person in front of you does it is feels like MURDER! my PTV was barley touching my face! very un-commfprtable. They served dinner whitch was chinesse stile chiken with rice. I feel asleep while i was watching American weading and two miutes latter they blasted the lights back on! horrible! But as i found out that we where near landing. They served a little breakfest pack. By the time we started are desend the sun rise was begging to happen. When we got down further we saw more fog! we landed in total shock becuase we hadnt even seen the ground. We started to taxi after langing. I saw my first ever NWA A330 great birds! We got to are gate and it startred to snow! We waited in the plane for awhile and then the captin came over the speaker and told us that no one had been at the gate to connect the gangway to the plane. Finally we depaerted the plane. We had a four hour layover till are flight to MAD so we decided to go shopping. After we where done we went to the viewing deck. From up there it was freezing so we only stayed up there for a few minutes and managed to spot A Belgium excel 767 and the BMI A319. We got to are 737-800 gate around the time for boaording. As we walked down the gang way i spotted the UAL 767 star alliance plane and the UAL 777 new colors. When we got inside the plane i was very surprised to see that the seats where almost a like to the 777 seats. The minute i sat down i feel asleep. When i woke up we where landing at MAD. From the winddow i saw the AR 747-400 and my second IB 340-600. We came in very high but made it safley. We taxied out the apron where we parked next to the AR 747-400.(very exiting) around us where the fleet of Air Europas 767s. We got off the plane and took are bus whitch went right under the IB 346.
I am still in Madrid and i am going back to JFK on sunday the 14th. I am doing a lot of spotting at MAD.
i will add some more to this post when i get back home.
Cheers from warm/cold spain!
