I assume you'll be in coach. If you're flight is during breakfast hours, expect a drink and a granola bar. Closer to landing there may be a second drink offered. If you're flight is 11 AM or after, expect a drink and a bag of pretzels. Once again closer to landing there may be another drink. Overall flight will be nice, the MD-80's have More Room Throughout Coach (MRTC) but you will have no Inflight Entertainment (IFE) meaning no radios or TVs. The flight takes about 1hr44 so it's of decent length but not so long you get really bored.

When I went from MSP to LGA last year on AA, I had to connect through ORD both ways. I flew the MD-80 ORD-LGA and it's very nice! The seats look great with the head rests and all, the MRTC is only decent on the MD-80, but still not that bad. The farther back you go, the louder it gets. I noticed that I was pretty far back and it wasn't that loud. The snack was a drink with a snack mix, this flight took place at 10:00 am.

On the way back I flew LGA-ORD on the 757. This flight left LGA at 8:00 am, so we received a drink and a granola bar. There is also IFE on the AA 757, just a few shows.

Enjoy your flight!

MRTC = More Room Throughout Coach.

AA took out a few seats on their planes giving everyone in coach a few more inches of legroom. I think it's most notable on the F-100, I thought the legroom on the F-100 was excellent! I love that little plane, it's a shame it's going away!
