Madrid & Budapest - On The Job With EasyJet

Wed Aug 25, 2004 9:47 pm

Hi guys

Sorry, this is not really a trip report at all, rather a chance for me to check out what's possible with my new digital camera. I'm not a very "technical" person, so getting one was somewhat of an educational leap for me!

Anyway, I work for easyJet and I've been taking my camera around with me the last few days, whilst working. Because we're usually very busy doing other things, I don't get many chances to take photos, but I thought you might appreciate 1 or 2 I managed to take below. I hope you enjoy them (for what their worth) and hopefully the camera will accompany future trip reports!

This is the Senior Cabin Crew Member (SCCM), Emma Staines on an early morning flight to MAD from LTN. (737-300, G-EZYK).

Typical for young girls I think!.....Lorna applies more makeup before descent into Barajas (MAD)

Once in MAD, we're allocated a remote stand next to Iberia A320 Delta del Ebro. Lorna makes the most of the Iberian sun whilst awaiting the pax...

On a completely separate flight now, here I am in the flightdeck of easyJet 737-700 G-EZJE. Captain Graham Crawford and Senior First Officer Stuart Alexander (undergoing command assessment for promotion to Captain) go over their approach plan for Budapest's Ferihegy int'l airport:

That's all for now, that's your 15-second 'day in the life' report!

regards

Great pictures! I think a lot of people (including me) would enjoy reading a trip report about a day in the life of a FA.

Do consider it on your next trip.  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

You're doing very well with the digital camera - some great photos! Can you remove the dates put on there though?

Having read some of your past reports as FA on EasyJet I'd really love another as well if you could spare the time at some point with the camera as well  Big grin.

Keep up the good work!

Hi Oliver

Well, here's one or two from yesterday's trip to NCE; sorry, they're not very "professional" shots, they're really just some fun!

Taken from 737-300 G-IGOH yesterday morning:

This is one of our German FAs, based in LTN:

Hi ThomasCook

I hope you and others don't mind the casual photos I took; I'm not trying to boast about my job at all, I simply hope to share some 'fun' moments with all you aviation lovers out there!

I'm really having great fun with easyJet - it's true that most of the crew are great fun to fly with - as you can see for yourself. I love going into the flightdeck and chatting with the flightcrew once the passengers are settled and there is a spare moment (on longer flights such as Budapest or Athens).

However, don't be deceived by all the smiles! The job, although fun, is actually physically demanding - on very short flights, such as Paris or Amsterdam, you are almost rushing to make sure everyone gets a chance to order something if they wish. Having to wake up at 0400-0600 every day for 3 days in a row to operate 4 sectors, maybe even LTN-AMS-LTN-AMS-LTN can be extremely tiring, so you have to know what you're doing. That's when you need the crew to be a great team. This is certainly not something glamorous like Emirates or BA longhaul - no nightstopping in exotic locations; we only get to see European airports for 20 minutes before preparing to head back!

But it IS fun, and there are some VERY interesting people out there working for the airline....  Big grin
