Terminal 2, gate 63
I left my appartment in Madrid at 10:30 for Barjas. I arrived at the airport at 10:45. I made my way inside Terminal 2 and to one of the many Iberia check in desks. As it was a Tuesday morning the check in desks where not very busy. My mother asked are check in agent if there was any window seats toward the front of the plance since I did not want to get stuck with the eninge in the back of the plane. It turned out that the econamy of the plane was full, so they moved us up to business class, not only was it business class but it was the first row of the plane! I was really happy. But, no time to be happy, time to rush to the gate! We went down to the end of Terminal 2 and dows a escalator to a set of security areas. We passed security with no problem and made are way down the moving side walk to gate 63. As usual at Barjas we had to go out to the tarmac to are plane. We gave are tickets to the agent and walked down the gate way but vered right and went down the stairs. The bus that was there was packed full, and I wanted to get some photos from the ground, so we decided to wait for the second bus. Here are some photos I snapped while waiting:
the first bus
an Iberia A319
an Iberia A320 landing
a Iberia MD-87 tail
a little birdy
and then I got on the second bus and took a lot of photos:
inside the bus
a regular El Al 738
a LAN 763
the line up of planes
and then I got out of the bus and took even more photos:
a Atlasjet 757
the tail of TC-OGG
an Iberia Dash-8
an AA 767-300 heading for MIA
an IB A321 just coming off the runway
an Alitalia A319
an Easyjet 737
the side of my place
A Santa Barbra DC-10 came by, but a IB worker said I could not take any photos..... argh!
So then I boarded the plane, and took my seat in 1A and took some photos from inside the plane:
the lcd screen
the Iberia small-haul hangar
EC-FEZ, who I have flown before
the Iberia long-haul hangar
my spotting spot, where this photo was taken:
a LAN A340
the new terminal
the leg room
a Spanair MD-83 rolling down 36L
so then it was are turn to take off and we started are roll, and within 30 seconds we where off the ground! It was such a smooth and quiet take off!!
the two leaning towers of Madrid
the new terminal
and than lunch was served, I got a ham sandwhich and a Fanta Lemon.
so here are photos of in flight
sorry, I had to stop the photos here since they seem not to be working anymore.
So, I got my food and ate it, it was very nice a relaxing. The service was wonderful. About 30 minutes into the flight was started are decent which you can really feel from the front of the plane! We got lower and lower and made are way right down onto the runway of GRX. The landing was very smooth. The airport is really small and open. When I got out of the plane all you could see was blue sky! There was another IB MD-87 getting reay to depart to Palma De Mallorca. We walked into the baggage claim area, claimed are bag and walked out to get a cab.
In all a great experiance!!
look for my return trip!
sorry about the photos
