A few weeks ago I decided I needed to get away from the cold and snow of New England and head on down to Florida to visit my cousin for a lonf weekend. I decided to fly into PBI since I never been there and she lives almost equidistant between there and MCO. I wanted to fly from BDL but the fares were significantly higher than NYC. I first checked out B6. They had a lot of frequencies but in the end I chose Song because it was $100 cheaper.

I set out for JFK at around 6 am. Traffic all the way down was very light on the highways I used - I-84, I-684, Hutchinson Pkwy, Van Wyck Expwy. I arrived at the Avistar car lot just after 7 am. The bus promptly took me to Terminal 2. I checked in at the kiosk and went through TSA quickly and took a seat near gate 23 so I can watch departing aircraft take off.

The flight was delayed 30 minutes due to the inbound aircraft being delayed from wherever it was coming in from. We boarded by zone, me being in 3. I took my seat in 16F, an emergency exit row. The flight was full. We taxied out quickly for Runway 31L where we were number 5 for takeoff behind 2 Jetblue A320s, 2 American A300s, and a Comair CRJ. Takeoff was smooth and we took a course along the Jersey shore, the Delmarva peninsula, Virginia Beach, and the Carolinas. From there we were over the water. While enroute I made good use of the IFE. I listened to some music, played the trivia game against the other passengers, and watched some TV. Then before we knew it, we were making our descent into PBI where we landed smoothly and taxied to gate C3. We disembarked where we found the airport to be absolutely crowded. Concourse C was very busy and TSA lines for departing flights snaked every which way. I proceeded to baggage claims and quickly scooped up my bags and picked up my Avis rental car.

I then headed north on I-95 to my cousin's house near Vero Beach where I can finally relax in the warm Florida sun with temps in the 70s all weekend. I spent some time in Sebatian Inlet State Park and did some exploring of the area between Vero Beach and Melbourne. But, before I knew it was already time to return home.

I left the house about 4 pm as I knew I'd br arriving in Palm Beach area in rush hour traffic. I was right. There was an accident on I-95 south near the Belvedere St exit which created lots of congestion. I arrived at PBI before 6 pm, returned the car, and checked in. I grabbed a quick bite to eat, went rhrough security, and got to gate C5 at about 720pm. The airport was much less crowded than on Saturday. We boarded and pushed out and toke off smoothly. We were number 1 for takeoff. I listened to some music and watched the UConn men defeat Providence in 2 overtimes. We took basically the reverse route to JFK and landed firmly on the runway. I cleected my luggage, called for the Avistar bus, got in my car and headed home to Connecticut.

Overall, a pretty good trip. This was my first flight on Song and will not be my last. The IFE is excellent for a low fare carrier, the crew service on both flights was good. The aircraft were clean. I have not much more to write. I hope you enjoyed reading this. I'll be off to CLE on Friday.

Nice report. I'm anxious to try Song.

Hope you enjoyed your stay on the Treasure Coast. I used to be a reporter in Vero Beach -- one of the most beautiful, still-unspoiled areas of Florida. How'd you like Sebastian Inlet?

Sebastian Inlet is so nice. You have great facilities there, clean beach. Plus it only costs $5 to get in. I was there every day. The whole Treasure Coast area is a great area.

BTW, I highly recommend Song.
