So, we arrived at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport 30 minutes behind schedule to catch CO1034 to EWR on a 737-700. As a side story, we had boarded a shuttle bus from the long term parking, when, the bus hit a security truck which caused us to be delayed even further. Entering the CO line 1 hour until take off, we in about 15 minutes got to an agent to hurried us along and got us the best he could do on this flight, everyone in a middle seat in rows 19 through 25 in the E seat. But, he got us the bulkhead from EWR to DUB and DUB to EWR. We hurried off just to be hit with a huge security line. After passing security we made our way to our gate as they were calling row 21 and higher. I looked at my ticket and I was in 21 E. and I quickly hopped on the plane after filling out my CO One Pass form so we could get miles. I get on a very clean and cozy aircraft with a very snooty F class flight attendent who was trying to keep us from walking to widely in the beloved F cabin! The check in efficiency was great and I made my way to the middle seat. My seat mates were skinny, thank God, and were very kind, except the guy on the aisle only spoke French. But I sat down as the seat belt sign went on, and we made a very brief taxi to the runway. We just turned and didin't even stop and took off into the glorious Arizona morning to our cruising alitutude of FL350. The sit was nice on the butt and back, but the headrest was crappy cardboard, but at least it had adjustable wings! I really enjoyed the amount of legroom that I had on the flight, good job to CO. Eventually the F/A's came out with the breakfast (cereal, muffin, and milk [for the cereal]). I thought is was just perfect for what I wanted and really enjoyed it. There were in total 4 drink services which really helped the flight go by as a settled into a book, ignoring Fat Albert playing on the great screens that were every few rows. A great warm smile was on all of the female crew that helped me think great things about CO. The service was amazing for the 4hr. 38 min. flight. I must hand it to CO that they have a wonderful product! We eventually started our approach in to EWR that was VERY bumpy. Many pax got worried and started ringing the call bells in panic thinking that the wings were going to fall apart. We finally touched down surprisingly smoothly in EWR and made a very long taxi to Gate 127 I think. I got off the plane with a very good impression of CO

First experience with Co was very impressive and was amazed by the high quality of service and care provided by all crew members. I know that this is a very short report, but the quality of service speaks for itself, and it was very uneventful unlike my next reports. Stay tuned for CO EWR-DUB DUB-EWR and EWR-PHX!

one word(or two) SUB-PAR!!!!
They feature a whopping industry low 31''.
They are a great airlines but they are in need of a few extra inches!

First 31" isn't 31" in all cases. Thickness of seat has something to do with it. CO has new thin coach seats in most of their planes, which means that it can feel like 32-33" in some other airlines. Still, some planes are better than other at CO in this respect. The 73G likely had the newer seats. And of course the 73G does have my favorite seats, exit row with 64" pitch...

Second, many models have 32" pitch on top of that new seat (767,some 757s, RJs). Also, the 753 and some 752s have 32" pitch "sliding" recline, where the seat goes back and the lower goes forward a bit, which you would think would cut back on room but the way it repositions your legs, it actually improves things. The downside is pressing the button doesn't return the seat on it's own very well, so you have to aid it, and the F/A's are often helping pax return to upright for landing.

It is too bad the 777 only has 31", since it is a flagship product.

No offense to anyone who claims loyalty to CO, but I dread having to fly them in economy. I have flown their 752, 73G, 764, 733, 738, 735, and 739. Flying B6, UA and AA as often as I do, I have to say that CO's economy seats are extremely uncomfortable. The width and pitch are meant for people under 5 feet and who weigh under 120 pounds and I'm not overweight or extremely tall. The 764 was absolutely the worst of all my experiences. Considering the new equipment, I thought the seat width might be expanded a little. Boy, was I wrong. Thank god it was only EWRCUN. I think I would jump out of my skin if I were stuck in economy on a 752 over the Atlantic. I can't understand why CO continues to receive such high marks from industry experts and it's client base. On a positive note although I haven't experienced it, I hear trans-Atlantic/Pacific J class is pretty terrific. Having seen pictures and walking through the cabin on the 764, I would tend to believe it. All in all, I would choose UA or AA over CO any day of the week.

Flying CO from SEA - MCO via IAH was one of the most miserable experiences of my life. Their coach seats seem extremely uncomfortable, from a pitch and padding standpoint. For instance, you can feel the person's tray table behind you, and when they lower it, there goes all your lumbar support. There is no leg room whatsoever either.

I go out of my way to avoid CO, although maybe I just had a bad experience.
