Ryanair's 732s, EMA-MJV-EMA

Mon Jun 06, 2005 4:32 am

Got back from Murcia last night. I wasn't going to bother with a trip report, but there seems to be just one report from MJV (Murcia/San Javier) on here and Ryanair's 732s are disappearing, so I thought I ought to do a report. So here we go...

EMA-MJV
Date: Sunday 29th May 2005
Flight #: FR1924
Reg: EI-CNX
Aircraft: Boeing 737-230/Adv
Scheduled dep time: 15:50
Actual dep time: ...
Scheduled arr time: 19:35
Actual arr time: 19.30

Couldn't remember the actual departure time, but it can't have been too early/late or I would have remembered

Checked in at desk #48 in the new(ish) extension. It all looks a bit temporary and gloomy, and the air conditioning was freezing. The queues weren't too bad for our flight, but they were quite slow moving.

We then headed towards departures. The queue was all the way down to the toilets by desk #1 Wow!

After a long time, we eventually got in the lounge. I was impressed! Totally different compared to the last time I was there. It seemed a lot bigger and more modern - and the great views of the aircraft were still there.

Our aircraft turned up, EI-CNX, and I eventually got a fairly decent seat, 5A.

The flight was fairly uneventful really, nothing much to write about. We came in over the Mar Menor and Los Alcazares and landed at Murcia/San Javier pretty much on time. We got off the plane and headed towards the terminal but had to stop half way because OO-TUI was starting up - jet blast

So we all stood there for a while until it was safe for us to move on, and safe for the remaining passengers to get off our plane.

We walked round to arrivals where the passports were examined in the usual Spanish way
The bags took ages to arrive in the tiny baggage reclaim area to say it was a stones throw away from the aircraft. At REU for example, the bags got inside the terminal almost as fast as we did.

So that flight was fine, all on time, nice one FR

Murcia/San Javier really is small. Just a handful of check-in desks, each in use. We were at #1, and the queue was moving fairly fast, which was of course good. We then took a few steps backwards towards the departure lounge. We went through security to what looked like a refugee camp - people sat everywhere, not much movement in the room at all. There's 3 gates (doors) in this place and one small shop at the right hand side. There was a MyTravelLite flight going out to Birmingham as we entered, followed by a flight to Helsinki - there were loads of people going on this one, didn't think there would be so many people on it!

After a while, our flight was the next one to go. Lots of people presumed it would be gate 3 because this is the one that had been used all the time we were in there, so people decided to queue there. We eventually joined the queue too. A few minutes later, our flight details came on the screen at gate 2. Stampede. Handy for us, we turned around and we were there. Unlucky for the impatient people who had been standing for ages at gate 1, who were now at the back of the queue

We then walked past a Norwegian Air Shuttle aircraft and got on EI-COB via the rear door. The crew (all non-Irish, but spoke excellent English) seemed very nice on this flight as soon as we stepped on

I sat in 11D (emergency exit row) so had a bit more legroom. The flight, again, was uneventful.

Landed at EMA just a few minutes late, and walked (in shorts, what a fool) to arrivals, which has been changed yet again.

Ryanair: no complaints from me, the crew were fine, price was good and we were on time. How I like it

So that's my report. It's not the most detailed ever, but if there's any questions, fire away

Tom

Ah, nice to see EMA keeping up with the times. Do you know where the new executive lounge is?

Thanks,

Nope, was going to keep an eye open for it though, but my eyes were drawn to the modernised departure lounge  Wink
Anyone know where it is?

Haha, nice short report there, gets the job done though.

Hope you had a good time in MJV, I flew EI-COB in March. *Cough* what a wonderful plane she is!  Smile

JASPIKE!!! Got a picture of your Aircraft on Sunday 29th May landing at sometime around 2:00pm.

As I was talking to some of the spotters, I missed you taking-off!

I don't know if you saw me when you where Taking-off, I was at Diseworth Road, in my Red and White Sunderland A.F.C Shirt. Sometimes I stand on top of the sign-post there (away from the fence) for the Departure shots, so I get good Pictures, and everybody can see the Red'n'White Colours on the Plane!

Anyway, here is a Picture of your Aircraft on 29/05/05 just landing before it jetted you off to Murcia:

Here are some Pictures of the New Executive lounge from the NEMA Website:

Here is what my good friend A321fly said before he had to leave:

Quoting A321fly:
They have exteneded the departure lounge by bulding work so thats where it is half in.

That's quite cool! Nice photo Big grin
I didn't see any spotters at EMA (wasn't really paying any attention to be honest  Wink) but saw quite a few at MJV.
