So the time came for me to return home pretty typical TR but I got to experience new equipment and all so I think it's worth reading. Sorry no pics this time either.

Delta Air Lines
Anchorage (PANC) - Salt Lake City (KSLC)
Depart Scheduled/ Actual: 2:40A/ 2:27A
Arrive Scheduled/ Actual: 9:13A/ 8:53A
EQP: B752 NNC N665DN
Gate: N1
Seat: 43F Zone 4

I got to the airport around 12:50A and went up to the e-ticket machine to check in and the agent said that it wasn't working for passengers on flight 1233 so she checked me in and handed me my boarding passes. Being pretty pissed off at my aunt I went and sat for a few then went up to the gate at 1:40. Pretty quiet up there tonight, everyone was quiet. They started boarding at 2:00A, they started with Zones 1 and 2, then let everybody board.

Once on the plane the agent was greeting us and there was classical music playing in the cabin. Walked all the way back to my seat to find a cute little old lady who had the aisle seat, middle seat was open. The lady was going to Arkansas, she had family living in Anchorage.

The load tonight I think was 96 people? I thought I heard the agent say that, we were pretty light. We pushed back way early, the captain came on and said that our cruise time to Salt Lake would be about 4 hours and 15 minutes. We taxied to 24L and were No.1 for take off. Behind us was a Continental 737. Our take off was extremely fast, and like always.. like a rocket that the 757 is. Beautiful view of Sleeping Lady as we hit Fire Is. and then turned around to SLC.

Once we had reached our cruise altitude the movie had begun, and the FAs passed out their 'Refreshment' box. It was a plastic thing with a package that said 'enjoy!'. It came with 2 packages of wheat crackers, cheese dipping sauce, oreo cookies, and raisins. FAs then gave us drinks and half the people were asleep anyway they were pretty much handing out 2 to people. I .. enjoyed.. mine then blah leg room was okay, I had room to stretch out and i even had room to put one leg on the seat and relax, I had lots of room.. being short has advantages.

Our flight crew was pretty nice tonight except one goofy lady.. she was pretty weird. She kept going over and playing with and holding some lady's baby.. every time she'd pick up the baby it would cry and she'd start baby talking it I was like GAH! STOP!, the FA I think was a bit friendly she'd sit with the lady and talk to her, but she was nice none the less. The lady next to me was trying to sleep and I felt so bad for her.. anyway I gave her my neck pillow and .. I guess that sounds pretty nasty that I let an old lady use it but I didn't need it might as well have let the good go around.

Our approach into SLC was pretty bumpy, pretty normal. Landed on 16R, half hour early.. extremely nice. Went to the gate got off, went shopping and junk.. tried to waste time for my next flight.

It kind of schocked me that DL can put 9 zones on an MD-90, but only 7 on a 752. Anyway when the time finally came for the final few people in the gate area to get on, walked down the jetway got on and to find out It was a new interior! Sweet. I was originally in 13E but A lady with a carseat and her baby were in C and D so she told me she'd take the window so she wouldn't block me, I really didn't want to give up the window but I usually get up and walk around a lot and so I did. MD-90s are looooong planes, load factor today 100%.

The seat was pretty much felt the same as the older interior, the leather seats are really nice though, and they don't make the back of your head irritated like the other fabric does (to me anyway). Leg room, no problem. We had a pretty long take off roll in SLC, the heat was causing flights to HNL and junk take only enough fuel to fly to LAX for a fuel stop before they could continue to HNL. We rocketed up, and I got dizzy! I haven't been dizzy on a plane in so long.. it was so cool! We climbed up to 29,000ft.

In flight, they started the movie and then we had the option of cheese crackers, peanuts, animal cookies, sun chips, or granola bars. I got a can of Diet coke and bottle of water with a package of the cheese crackers. I asked for sunchips too but he was like.. If I have enough at the end you can. I didn't go back and bother him, I had a sandwich from Starbucks though and I ate that.. it was good, but not worth the $7 I paid for it.

We landed in CVG right on the dot taxied to the gate and my carry on was a few bins back so I had to wait for some people to get off before I could get my bag.. good thing we had some patient people that let me and a girl go back and get them. Thank you. The captain and lead FA were at the front of the plane smiling and saying thank you as we got off.

MD-90 was the new plane I got to fly on, and they are awesome. I don't think it replaced the MD-88 as my fav, but it defientaly is now in 2nd place. I love how you can feel the speed changes and pitch changes.. the flip down screens in it also are really nice too, but they're really small.

A little before landing I asked the FA to see which runway we would be landing on and she called, the pilot said 36C, shocked me! I was like wait a second.. but then I realized.. they must have renamed the runway because they're building a new one which will I guess become 36L.

I had another 2 hours to kill in CVG, was pretty boring I had money to spend so I guess I used some.. but not a whole lot. Spent way more in SLC.

I got on the plane and sat down, we were pretty full almost 100% because they had canceled a flight to SBN earlier. We were No. 4 for take off on 27, we took off behind the ASA- Texas plane. Seemed like we had a pretty long take off roll we didn't start to take off until 36C, but we got an awesome view of the new runway... they've gotten a lot done since i've been there last.

They came on and told us our estimated cruise time to SBN would be 45 minutes, longer then normal becuase SBN was being slammed with thunderstorms, so we got to fly all the way around Indiana before landing. We flew west for a while, then north to IND.. we flew over Indianapolis and you could see the speedway, BankOne tower, RCA Dome, Conseco Field House.. was awesome. We continuted Northwest of the city. The clouds were absolutly amazing.. one was just north of Indy.. looked like a Mushroom cloud.. with a flat top.., then we were flying in zig zags .. clearly to avoid the clouds.. we flew right next to them though and you could see our shadow it was really neat. Once we did hit some clouds our CRJ was thrown around like crazy. We would drop and turn sideways.. drop some more.. it didn't really bother me.. maybe I was just to tired to even realize what was happening.

We came in way west of SBN, followed it as we flew east, circled around and landed on 27L, with a small bump.. you could hear the plane land on the wet runway it was kind of neat.. was it hyrdroplaning (sp?)? I don't know if planes do that or not. We went to the jetway got off, went to collect my luggage and it wasn't there! So I went up to the ticket counter and they had put it on the earlier flight before mine. Nice touch.

Thanks for reading my TR! Comments .. more then welcome, as always.

Sounds like you had mostly good flights, in true Delta fashion. And trust me when I say be happy you missed those storms!

I wonder if this was the CR7 you were in?:

I was in a Kitty Hawk 737 from ATL to FWA last night, the storm tops were pushing 60,000 feet, so we flew right through them. You missed a fun ride! Pics coming soon!

Glad to have you back Travis, now I don't have to do an epic road trip with Charlie LOL. I wonder how many Starbucks are between Michigan and Anchorage???

I'd rather shoot BAD_MOTIVE
