Yesterday my girlfriend was saying she was lonely and missed me, so I decided I would book a flight to see her, I logged into easyJet staff website and got myself a fare for £35.98 later that evening, At 6:30pm I got myself ready and headed to Luton Airport parking in the staff car park, I caught the shuttle bus to the terminal and checked in for my flight. I head for departures and cleared security with no problems. I went to starbucks got myself a Strawberry and Cream Frappacino and sat down waiting for my flight to flash up on screen. at about 8:30pm the screen told us to go to Gate 17 at this point she still had no idea I was on my way to see her, now was the time to let her know, so I gave her a call and told her ill be arriving at Belfast International at around 2220, at first she didnt believe me until she heard the boarding announcement in the background.

Our aircraft pulled onto stand at around 2045, 5 minutes early, not bad considering they are 9 times out of 10 late, at 2055 we were ready for boarding, I got my staff pass out and got myself a pre board, I chose myself seat 1F, settled down and waited for all other passengers to board, flight was pretty full tonight.

at 2110 we pushed back on time, and taxied out for take off, at this time of night Luton is very quiet so no holding to depart, straight out this time, we climbed up into the night for the short 50 minute hop across the Irish sea, the easykiosk service began around 10mins into the flight, I got myself a complimentary cup of tea and a cheese baguette (didnt have time for dinner) we reached our cruising altitude of 34000ft, it wasnt long after that the captain made his announcement, saying we were up over the north west of the UK about to make our way across the sea, weather was good in Belfast, and that we would be beginning our descent shortly landing 5 mins ahead of schedule. By now the excitement was setting in, couldnt wait to get on the ground to see my girl who I hoped would be waiting at the arrivals for me, we.

We slowly began our descent into Belfast some bumps on the way passing over the top of the Isle of Man, home of the famous Skidmarks, by now it was dark outside and getting even more bumpier as we neared Belfast, we made a few turns here and there and touched down (no idea which runway) 5 minutes ahead of schedule at 2215 parking on stand 5 mins later.

I left the aircraft via the front airstairs and made my way to the arrivals hall, 5 mins later i was in arrivals where my girl was standing with a big smile on her face arms wide open for the biggest hug ive ever had, we made our way out of the terminal to the car park and headed back to her house for night.

Look out for part 2 of tonights return flight coming soon
