So my flight was the second flight of the day, scheduled at 15:25 at Tuzla. Austrian Airlines, SAS and Lufthansa made a shuttle bus available from Sarajevo Aiport to Tuzla Airport.
I had to be at Sarajevo Airport at 10:00. The bus was leaving at 10:30. For the 150 km ride, the bus would take 2 and a half hour which is a lot.
So here is our CentroTrans bus to Tuzla.
The representative of that company made us sign a paper in which it says that OS, LH and SK would not bear any responsibility in case of a problem during the transfer per bus. We would then travel there at our own risk: very interesting.
So I signed the paper and I decided to have a coffee inside the modern and small Sarajevo Terminal.
At 10:30 we were off to Tuzla. We crossed the main bridge of Sarajevo.
I decided then to rest a little bit because I was tired and the bus was not full so I could stretch on the last row of seats. But I have to say that I could not relax that much because the scenery was fantastic.
We got up the mountains and between the valleys.
We crossed also a nice city but I could not get its name, can somebody help me?
At around 13:00, we arrived at Tuzla Airport which also a military field. There were a lot of troops there.
From outside the terminal looked small but nice.
I went straight to the check in desk. There were 3 flights leaving at the same time, one flight to Istanbul with TK, another one to Budapest with MA and ours to Vienna with OS. At the terminal, there was only 2 check in desks and 2 gates. OS and TK got appropriate desks but MA check in was made using a normal wood table. The terminal was crowded. They also had to weigh the baggage using old machines. No printed boarding cards were handed over as you would expect but old ones with stickers for the seat numbers.
It took me half an hour to check in although only 3 people were ahead of me. I went then to the first floor to have a drink and wait for boarding. It was 13:30.
The terminal did not even have an information screen.
The Caffé had a nice view over the tarmac. Two Let410 from some unknown airlines were parking there : ABC airlines and Silever Air.
Then a TK 737-800 landed from Istanbul.
At 14:30 I decided to go to the boarding gate numer 2. The problem is that that gate also was assigned to Malev. So when the MA flight was boarding, there was a big confusion about who is to board and who is not. There were no announcements. The boarding gate had no toilets and no chairs. We were sitting on the floor.
After MA boarding was complete, the flight departed. It was nearly 15:00 and no sign of our OS aircraft.
The boarding gate was so hot. We had to keep the gates open to get some fresh air.
At 15:15, an OS representative came and mad an announcement in Bosnian and in English. Our flight would only land at 16:10 that is 1:30 late because the pilot had an argument with the flight attendants in Vienna and they could not take off before they fixed out the problem. Everyone was laughing.
Then they started to hand us out some drinks while waiting. We were also moved to gate one because it had more seats and a toilet. It was also the gate used for the AZ flight to Mialan MXP.
Turkish Airlines taxied to runway 10 minutes before Malev but took off may be 30 minutes after it. I don’t know what happened in between. Strange things!!!!
I could catch those Let 410 again.
Finally at 16:34, our OS A319 landed.
The AZ ER4 also arrived from Milan MXP.
At around 17:00, both our flight and AZ’s started to board. Some confusion there as OS personnel did know if we were the right passengers or one belongings to AZ. I was asked to show my boarding card twice.
I walked through the tarmac to the aircraft while others got to AZ.
Our A319 was named “Sofia”. I have already flown “Bucharest” and “Kiev”. 3 more to go

Then I got to my Seat 18F.
After the boarding completed, we started taxiing. It was 17:19. The captain apologized for the delay stating a missing passenger in Vienna for which they took off the baggage. Strange!
AZ ERJ was ahead of. Note that two cars blocking the exit to the runway.
At 17:24 we rolled down the runway, on our way to Vienna.
There was a big lake on the way.
The IFE was not working that day, so I could not see where we exactly were.
The Bistro service was started. As I was very hungry, I bought Tramezzini and ordered a coffee and some water. They offred us a bounty. I am not a fun of paying my food because for the price of the ticket, I could have flown down to Bangkok.
I just love those red paintings.
We started then our descent towards Vienna.
Those are some parts of of Vienna.
We landed then at 18:11 after a rather smooth flight.
This was a special NG livery.
That was it for this long and tiring trip from Sarajevo to Vienna
