already another trip-report of me online here. Sorry for the delay in posting, but I was moving to a new build appartment.
A friend of me since schooltime also likes the same things as I do (uhh,.. not all the same, but at least the flying part of my life ). He mailed me some day to look out for some cheap flights to do a spotting day somewhere. Later on, I found some cheap flights, with good times left between those flights to do some photography and chatting with eachother. This resulted in 3 flights that day, on 2 different low-cost carriers. Lets go!
My friend met me around 7.30am that morning to travel together to the airport by fast bus transport. It took only 8 minutes to reach the airport from my small appartment. We entered to terminal building and checked the screens, which are located on various places. We found out that our first flight of the day was being checked in at row 22, which is in fact in the West terminal (also known as Terminal 3). When we arrived at the desks we saw the Globeground staff already waiting for us. No other passengers in front, so all done within 3 minutes or so! Our flight on bmi baby was checked in by seat numbers, which is quite uncommon for lowcost-carriers to my knowledge. The lady blocked row 21 A(B)C and said the flight was not very full that morning.
We proceeded to security. It was a little congested around the check-points with loads of passengers for the Canada bound Air Transat flight. Many elderly Canadians flew back home. They are not the fastest people around of course, and this time security took some more time then usual . When we passed the control we noted our boarding gate was D6 (wow, that means a "bus-gate"), so our aircraft will be parked on a remote stand! Quite unusual for bmi baby flights! After drinking a cappucino in one of the pubs, we proceeded to our gate, and found out a mess of other people down there! So many flights handled at the same time in this small area.
Gate D6 is seperated in different sections and our flight was at section D6 "K". Preboarding of our flight started on time, but we had to wait for some unknown reason for about 15 minutes in the bus before we finally were brought to our aircraft "Little Costa Baby". The aircraft was parked on the midfield position D88. Next to us was another bmibaby flight to Birmingham. My friend was very happy with his first trip on the -500 series

We were seated almost in the rear of the cabin, and only a few other passengers were around us. Total load for this flight was about 60%. So quickly after doors closed, we changed our seats and both of us got window view now! We left soon after doors closed, the 3 cabin crew checked seatbelt and handluggage quickly and we proceeded to runway 24. We got airborne at 10.17am and heading for the UK!
The flightcrew gave some enroute info, weather forecast for the Midlands and our altitude of 27000ft. This is a quite high level for a short jump of the Northsea, as usually the flights cross at some 20000ft, to my knowledge. The cabin crew tried to sell some food, but they didn't have much luck as they finished very very quick, and after all this 'entertainment' we started our decend into Nottingham/East Midlands Airport. We dived into thick clouds, completely overcast with rainshowers We touched runway 27 at exaclty 10.08am local time. After the short ride to the terminal building we only found 2 other bmibaby aircraft and 1 bmi regional ERJ parked at the airport. Very quiet place overthere!
After immigration we visited a very nice and good provided aviation store in the arrivals lobby. They sell very nice aircraft models, all aviation magazines, and other books. I will recommend this shop to everybody!
Our second flight this day was on easyJet to Geneva. We only had a small 2 hours time here, so we were able to checkin already for our flight. We had to use the checkin machines at the far left area of the departure terminal. This area seems to be dedicated to easyJet as it's all orange overthere
The machines did OK, and we got our boarding passes without problems. Now for the meantime, we walked outside to look for some good place to do some photography. Luckily the rain stopped falling from the skies! In the cargo area, 5 minutes walk from the terminal, we were able to make pictures of about 5 aircraft which came in in 1H15 time... Not a busy airfield here

We walked back to the terminal and passed security. Now we saw an easyJet B737-300 (ex GO Fly) parked in front of the terminal, and we became happy again to have another different aircraft for today (we already knew that the last flight would be operated by an A319).
But, time passed by and without any info our flight got delayed. At that moment another easyJet aircraft landed. This was an swiss registered Airbus 319. Oh no...no chance to fly to 733 today But never mind, we both flew on the 733 on many occasions in the past! The aircraft was ready quickly after arrival, and all resulted in about 45 minutes delay in total on departure!
Flight: EZS918 EMA-GVA
Aircraft: HB-JZF Airbus A319-111
Seat: 18A Economy Class
STD: 12:25 ATD: 13:01
STA: 15:10 ATA: 15:31
Boarding was done at both front and rear doors and finished quickly. The flight showed very high loads this afternoon, of about 95%. Only a few seats remained empty. We taxied down to runway 27 and got airborne at 1.08pm. Weather became better now here, but we had 90 minutes sunshine and rest at flightlevel 310 to go! The flight was very uneventful, I had a hot chocolate and some nice views outside of my window. I just love the easyJet orange winglets on those A319's! They fit perfectly in the deep blue skies!

We approached GVA and headed for runwas 05. We touched Swiss soil at 3.28pm, and blocked at gate B43 only 3 minutes later. Wow, it was beautiful weather here! Looks like summer. We quickly disembarked and headed for a nice position for photography near the runway. We had a now some time full of sunshine and 25 degrees Celcius here!! Just perfect for some spotting.

After 1½ hour we decided to walk back to the terminal to checkin for our third flight back home today. We were late for checkin now, as we used our full time to make pictures. We got our boarding passes from the machines again, and this resulted in boarding group "D", which means that we were allowed to board the aircraft almost at the end
My friend bought a nice (and expensive) present for his fiancee before we walked down to gate B44. Upon arrival we heard about an unknown delay due to late arrival of the incoming aircraft. It was crowed in this satelite terminal, passengers around us were angry (all easyJet flights got delayed for some reason) so the atmosphere was not perfect. We saw a Saudi VIP flight by MD-90 aircraft leaving for Riyadh. Finally we saw our aircraft coming in. Boarding started at 7.30pm and nobody took notice of the 'boarding groups', just to finish the boarding process as quickly as possible to minimize the delay! We were on board very soon, with plenty of seats to choose from
Flight: EZS957 GVA-AMS
Aircraft: HB-JZH Airbus A319-111
Seat: 23D Economy Class
STD: 18:45 ATD: 19:59
STA: 20:20 ATA: 21:27
EasyJet is doing good on this route, as the load was nearly full with 98%! We noted that a lot of business man use the flight as well (Dutch people like saving money on everything, and therefore they prefer EZY above KL). I spend my last Swiss Francs on some food, SFR 11.00 for a small baguette with Mozzarella and tomato plus a hot chocolate. Not cheap, but ok for me this time. The rest of the flight was boring without anything to write about.
The weather above the Netherlands was awful, we couldn't see any land below us due to thick fog everywere! On very short final we were able to see some things in the darkness again. Landing was on runway 18C which is strange at late evening. But, it appeared that runway 18R was closed for maintenance. We finally parked at gate D26.
Conclusion is that both bmibaby as easyJet are fine. They offer good products for a good price. EasyJet showed again very high loads on their flights, bmibaby didn't. But, I think easyJet may give some vocal information to her passengers in case of delays. At both EMA and GVA they refused to do so, which may be inconvenient for some passengers.
Anyway, we had some nice flights again, made some good pictures, experienced a new airline (bmibaby) and my friend had a new type (B735).
Any replies/questions are welcome!
