Hi all. This is my first trip report that includes pics. I'm still a bit behind the technology curve, so I've just figured out how to add pics to the forum. Some of the pictures are a bit blurry too, so bear with me.
I was on my way to fly on AA's inaugural last spring DUB
, but this is the trip over. I was in coach to ORD
and first class on a 777 to LHR
. The 6:00am DFW
and AA 90 the 9:00am ORD
that arrives LHR
at 10:35pm. Let me apologize right away that I didn't take any pictures of my first class seat on AA90. I just felt wierd doing it in front of everyone!
AA 2320 Apr 30, 2005. 6:00am DFW
Seat 26A N969TW On time.
AA 90 Apr 30, 2005. 9:10am ORD
Seat 3J N752AN On time.
Look how early it is. I actually stopped the car to make this shot. 4am!
Better run by the credit union ATM.
It's so early that the ticket counter isn't even open yet!
I can't even buy coffee yet!
Great, they gave me a seat assignment for the ORD
flight! (I'm flying on standby, as airline staff).
I'm not sure which airport this is. I think we were in the Missouri area.
Check out this crosswind landing! Ok, maybe we were landing on a different runway.
The Eagle terminal.
The United Express terminal.
Parking on the H side, next to the new Eagle gates in H. Or they were new to Eagle at the time--former AA gates.
Snapsot of the registration. TWA MD80 N969TW
Here's my 777! N752AN (BL)
A much better shot of it...at gate K16. Across from us at K12 was the flight to HNL
. The LHR
flight time was posted at 7.55hrs. The HNL
was posted as 9.15hrs.
Yes, dreams do come true. Confirmed in a first class window seat!
Cleared for takeoff!
St John's and Gander are behind us as we leave the icy coast of Newfoundland and enter the North Atlantic.
I just love the moving map display.
I forgot to take a picture of the main meal. This is the pre-landing dinner. The flight attendants were nice enough to remind me that all facilities at Heathrow will be closed upon arrival, so they asked if they should wake me for dinner in case I was asleep. I thought that was a nice touch.
One more shot of the moving map display.
It was so dark at heathrow and my camera was so small that I didn't take a landing shot, since it was at night on 9R
. Landing on 9R
disappointed me, because I wanted to see the London City Centre as we approached.
I do welcome constructive feedback as this is my first photo-trip report.
