TG Royal First Class A340-600 BKK-MEL (150+ Pics)

Hi I did a trip from Bangkok to Melbourne with Thai Airways International Royal First Class A340-600. I must say it was the best flight I've ever experienced. Since I've already made the INTENSIVE review with a lot of pictures for this flight, I am too tired to do it again here.

My intention is to share this experience with you guys, there is a link below that will direct you to my review page. Sorry for this inconvenience, but never the less, enjoy !!

Wow, very thorough and really cool. I love how TG manages to have a very modern, sophisticated look for their product, while staying true to the Thai heritage and culture. Would love to fly with them some day.

Great report! TG First Class looks incredible. The entree looks amazing! Wow, that seat #1A looks to be very comfortable. I hope to fly Thai Airways some day.
I love to fly!

Are you ever questioned by staff or other passengers as to why you're snapping hundreds of pics of each and every item as you go along?

Inside the waiting Lounge, judging by looking at the passengers, I believed this flight would be almost fulled.

Wow... a shot of the old design of the departure holding lounge! I wonder why didn't TG lobby for the refurbishment of their homeground in their terminal rather than the present Terminal 2? Now the airport just looks like an incomplete jigsaw puzzle with one terminal looking completely different from the other.

Main Course lay out ... I am speechless !!!

Even I am speechless... look at all that attention to detail! Reminds me of my favorite restaurant Baan Kun Mae in Siam Square.

Wow... what an excellent read.

And I thought I took too many photos!

To be honest I gave up after a while, do I need to see a picture of the lifejacket container or the flushing button in the bathroom? The again everyone has different styles of writing so

TG at least look like they have a decent hard product, the seats look good even if the fabric is hideous. IMO This design will date rather quickly. The food appeared to be excellent and certanly well presented.

And when I am in need of career advice I'll be sure to look in the direction of Thai military service. It either pays really well or they have a rather good travel policy as you post pretty regular F trips Big grin

Great trip report! I've never seen such a DETAILED picture trip report in my life. I thought I was going to get carpel tunnel syndrome from all that scrolling through the pictures (just kidding, I enjoyed every bit of it). Well I really got to see Thai's International Royal First Class up close and REALLY personal. Keep up the good work! BTW, I wonder what the flight attendants were thinking.

Everything on your trip report is Fantastic! I took the same flight TG981 on 16 Jan 06 with only myself being onboard the new First Class. (usually MEL F/C load is light and I was using an award ticket)

You did almost everything congraulations, except do you have any picture of TG cute flight attendants to share?  Wink

P'Chaz,

Really nice report - very detailed. In fact, really incredibly detailed. Looks like TG's product continues to be of a very high quality and the presentation of the food has the usual Thai flair. Folded banana leaf cone for the rice is very clever.

The seats for First and Royal Orchid products look kind of similar in the photos, with the exception of more space for First. Everything is a pod these days, isn't it?

Well, hopefully I'll be down MEL way one of these days soon and can try the A340-600 out for myself.

I was lucky enough to be on the first flight out of Sydney with the new First class seats last year and I was speechless. The service was fantastic as usual, but the new seats just made it all the more worthwhile. I have no hesitation in flying them again in F.

Thank you for bring back so many wonderful memories of that flight  Smile
