Intresting Trip Report - - strange about the lack of English speaking reading materials on board -- and not even a Continental Bkfst before landing in Moscow - on a 10 hr flight!?

Nope, no continental Breakfast served before landing at Moscow. The menu listed snacks like a sandwhich, but did not see any of the eight passengers in Business class eating a sandwhich before landing.

Very interesting report--one doesn't often get to read about SU business class or about flights on the IL96! I look forward to reading about the return.

Interseting stuff, shame you don't have any cabin shots though.

I have heard good reports about SU Business Class, this concurs with those, however, I would have expected something to eat prior to arrival.

I think the UA should improve their drinks service in the Red Carpet Lounges bythe sounds of it. They should at least have some beer or wine in there.

Yes, It would be nice if UA would offer some free Alcohol drinks in the red carpet club in Dulles. I recall last time used the red carpet club in Dulles about 4 years back UA gave a free Alcohol coupon good for one free Alcohol drink of your choice.

I'm going to try to get the return part of my trip report on Aeroflot done tonight.

Wonderful trip report. I flew Aeroflot IST-SVO-LED on Tu 154s last April in Business Class and I enjoyed it too.

I am suprised you had problems with English. When I flew them, the flight attendants spoke English well, even on the domestic flight within Russia. But the Aeroflot magazine does have English translations for the articles.

I noticed the huge portions and plentiful food on Aeroflot as well. The food was good, although I can't say I'm a big fan of Russian cuisine in general.
If you have never designed an airplane part before, let the real designers do the work!

I recall reading your trip report on Aeroflot, and like wise the food portions were huge as well, and Russian food is ok nothing too great. The only thing that was translated in the Russian inflight magazine which were onboard the 767-300ER from dulles to moscow was how to fill out the landing card since it is all in Russian.

As for a good English speaking crew the flight from Delhi to Moscow had that with English reading material see Part II of my trip report which I just posted on airliners.net
