MEX-CUN-MEX, Nova Air And AeroMexico

Hi all,

Well I hope you like my next trip report. I went on a 4 day vacation to Cancun with my cousin.

Departure: July 31st 2006
Airline: Nova air Flight 230
Type: 737-200
Departure Time: 7:50am
Actual Departire Time: about 8:30am
Flight time: 2 hours.

We arrived at the MEX airport and it was full!!, but fortunately the Nova air counter was not so full and check in was fast. We then went to our gate, but they changed it at the last minutes so we had to walk to the new gate assigned.

We were taken to the airplane about 20 minutes late and started to board. I was assigned an aisle seat, but fortunately for me, there was a window seat available in fron of me and I asked for permission to switch which was granted.

We took off about 40 minutes late. Take off roll was not as powerfull as the 737-800, but it was still pretty cool. The flight was uneventful, and we were offered a sandwich as breakfast and drinks.

We arrived in Cancun where you could still see the effects of Hurrican Wilma. Trees broken, swamps etc. But it was a very nice trip to Cancun. The beaches were great, the hotel was great and the girls were hot  Smile


Return Trip August 3rd 2006

We were picked up by a van that took us to the airport from the hotel at 17:00. We arrived at the airport and the AM counters were not full, so check in again was very fast. We then proceded to the gate and waited for boarding. There was an Iberworld A330, a Martinair 767, AeroMexico 737, Click Fokker 100 and then our 757 arrived.

Boarding started about 25 minutes before departure and it was uneventfull. Doors closed and we were off the gate on time.

We took off from rwy 12. Take off started slow, which I found strange for a 757 but after about 10 seconds the pilot pushed the throttles and we had take off power, which was awsome. I love the 757 power. It was about a 30 second roll, including the 10 second slow start.

We immidiately banked to the right, probably a 180 degree turn and headed towards MEX. There were som isolated CB, whcih looked awsome at night, you could see the lightning.

I was getting sick during the flight, because I was in the sun for a while that morning and I did not drink a lot of water. I has sunburn and was dehidrated. I asked the FA for a glass of water, and he probably saw my suffering face  Smile and offered me the whole bottle of 1.5 liters (which I thought was very nice of him). I also asked for a bag of peanuts for the salt (whcih is good for dehidration) and he came back with 3 bags. He walked by a couple of times and asked if I was doing OK.

I don`t know if you are an member and if you are reading this, but thanks for caring and being so helpful. I see why AM is famous for their service. I have flown with AM 4 times in the last 3 years, and I have always had this type of attention.

The approach into MEX was nice, I love flying over the city at night and it was very smooth. Touch downs was rough, we bounced about 3 times, but other than that it was very nice. We arrived 5 minutes before estimated time but we took a long time to the gate due to traffic.

I would like to say that AM is my favorite airline up until now and I would recommeend them anytime.

Nova air was fine, but I think they can improve their service a little more.
