I fly everyday, but my son who doesn't have an account would like to share his visit to Florida from the scorching AZ
.. Here he is.. He's going to be a sophomore in HS
, so don't mind if he has shitty grammar...
I went to visit a grandparent in TLH
on 7/14. I'm finally 15, so I am no longer a UM
. Thank god, because I'm very independent and have now visited 36 countries and 48 states. I consider myself a more experienced traveler than 99% of kids my age. Enough about me, on to the TRIP. I took CO
. Returned the same way.
I took some pics in flight. Unfortunately I didn't have the window seat until the ERJ's.
I originally planned on leaving on Friday the 14th, but since my dad was leaving to commute on Thursday, I went Thursday. We arrived at Prefight Parking a bit late for the early morning flight. We went through the security easily. We arrived at the gate fashionably late. Our seats were waiting for us. We got on and were surprised to see the flight full. The loads stated it was very empty the day before. Continental drops flights on Orbitz at the last minute and that can make a difference. Everything was normal. We had a on time departure.
We landed at 9:40 and the door oped at 9:55..
Express flight was very soon. We ran to the stairs in Terminal C. We got on the train. The train ride always gives great views to us spotters.
We got into the HELL HOLE that Terminal B is. We got to the gate in ok time.
I got on just fine and said my goodbyes to my dad. Non-Rev flying worked smooth the whole trip. I sat down at 6A
. I immediately whipped out the camera and started shooting. The FA
told me not to shoot around the gate. I told her OK
. Of course, the enthusiast I am, I kept shooting.
We landed at TLH
on time. We taxied to the new jetways @ TLH
. Last year they parked the ERJ on the ramp. Only spotting today was a DHL DC-9..
I spent a few days in Tallahassee..
My grandpa and I had a planned drive to St. Augustine, FL
(The oldest city in the USA).. On our way to St.A we passed Camp Blanding(Florida National Guard).. We stopped and checked out the museum, which included some classic Navy and Army Air Corp aircraft..
Army Air Corp Paratrooper C-47
Florida Air National Guard F-106 Delta Dart
We crossed the mighty St. Johns River. 3 miles wide!
We arrived at St. Augustine Beach on Monday July 17th at about 5PM. Our hotel was nice and so was the beach..
and the lighthouse.
I took this at a military cemetery. I thought it was a good pic to share..
After going to the beach, lighthouse, and Historic district for 3 nights, 2 days, its was time to go back to TLH
The next day I boarded
I arrived at TLH
at 6:30am. I, OF
COURSE, got picked for additional screening
... I got through it and went to gate to wait for my ticket. I got my seat and we boarded. Seat 11F was comfy.
Delta 737 at TLH
I fell right asleep. I woke up to, "Please be seated for arrival".. I felt refreshed. I had a great view of downtown Houston on approach.
We landed on time.
It took forever to get our "Gate Claim" bags to the ERJ door.
I made my way over to Terminal E. I got a Non-Rev update and went to shoot.. Got a couple good ones.
My memory card was full.. No more pics..
**** forgot, sorry.
I was the last Non-Rev on.. I got on before a woman and her son. I felt bad, but I had to get home. I was hot as a bitch on the 737. But as soon as the engines got fired up the A/C got kickin.. I had a middle seat and I was next to some red neck who kept singing along to the country music station. The flight seemed short as soon as the got the iPod going.. The flight landed on time in PHX
. Home at last..
Thank you for reading, if you did.
I hope to get my A.net account soon. YAY.
Long live Denver-STAPLETON. RIP the old and best KDEN
