Den To Phx On F9 With Lots Of Pictures Part One

Fri Aug 11, 2006 7:12 am

hey guys is my first attmept at writeing a trip report so be kind.
keep in mind I went to public school in the U.S so my grammer and word choice isn't the best ,but I will try.

well on to the story: I decided to check out a flight school in Phoenix RA academy (please dont post just to bash RAA or tell me how my money could be better spent. I'm only looking at this time) I purchused the tickets about a month in advance so I think i got a good deal. my trip took place aug7-9th.
well I arrived at the airport at about 4:45am for a 7:00am flight. their was quite a line forming in front of the frontier counter and frontier did quite a job of keeping it moving. I then walked across the bridge to concourse A where I came opon my first photo opertunity.

at about 6:30am the flight started to board i was lucky enough to be on jack the rabbit.

I was seated in 20D I believe and was lucky enough for our a319 to be parked next to a CO738 with winglets

while parked at the gate I enjoyed watching F9s 24 channels of tv. there was a brief new clip on the orlando tower being demolished.

shortly after 6:55am we began push back

taxiing to runway 25 I got a shot of a UA 767

we began a long slow climb up to 38235ft traveling at 486mph according to the map. I thought their was a rule that you had to stay below 250knots when below ten thousand ft? we had reached a speed of 328 mph by 9300ft. can anyone explain this?

some where over phoenix about five minutes from landing.

the flight was comfortable and the service was excellent.
the landing was smooth and uneventful.
I do have videos of the takeoff and landing but don't know how to post them.

a photo taken from a parking lot just east of the airport.

I will post the rest of the trip in a couple days due to technical difficulties with my camera.

thanx for reading

ehh he was only 280 knots, not a large amount, also he might have had a tail wind pushing the plane faster then he planned to.

I wish UA flew mainline to MYR, that way you wouldn't be stuck in a smelly Saturn for 12 hours.

I saw that too, but wasn't it the ATL tower?

What is shown on the cabin monitor is the ground speed while the speed restriction of 250 knots is for the indicated airspeed.
