It was an incredible adventure. A week in France visiting Lyon, Condrieu, Cannes, and attending a French wedding. It was easily the best trip that i've ever taken. I invite you to come along for the journey...but first, a very brief rundown of my outbound flights....after all, this is a trip report above all else, not a detailed flight report.
MSY-IAD: UA312, B737-300, seat 5A, load: 95%
IAD-FRA : UA916, B747-400, seat 39A, load: 100%
FRA-LYS : LH4170, B737-300, seat 19A, load: 95%
United dissapointed me with poor customer service in New Orleans at check in (waiting one hour in line with only 12 people ahead of me and very rude reponses from the MSY ticket agent) but they made up for it by offering excellent in flight service on both flights, specially IAD-FRA. I loved the 744. Sturdy as a rock, barely felt a bump. The hot towel service was a nice touch, and the meals were a lot better than the ones which AA and CO offer their coach passengers on TransAtlantic flights.
Lufthansa really was a class act. It was the nicest Boeing 737 flight that i've ever experienced. Period.
Now, on to the pictures.
In part 1 of my report, you'll see pictures of my flights, the beautiful City of Lyon, the wedding in Condrieu, and our train ride to Cannes via Marseille. I took over 150 pictures on this trip, so I selected some memorable ones for your viewing pleasure.
Stay tuned for part 2, which will feature Cannes in all its glory, plus my return adventure on Lufthansa, specifically on LH446 which involved a diversion...let the guessing games begin...
