Great trip report Sam!

I would also love to try out the DC-10 except I fear that it will be gone very soon. Do you know how much longer Biman plans to keep these planes and what other carriers still fly the DC-10 on scheduled flights?

Thanks,

Colin.

Colin

Biman may still keep them going strong for a while. NWA DC10 is retiring the flight tomorrow. Omni Air also operate DC10 on charters.

Sam,

Thanks for sharing your trip-report on BG with us, thru your link...

Those cabins really have a nostalgic feel about them with those orange/yellow/flowery seats...

Food looks quite good (and, honestly, never expected that)  Smile

The DC10 Economy cabin doesn't look too full...

Lubna, surely, is a very attractive F/A !!!
don't throw away tomorrow !

Great report Sam, many thanks.

I must say, the seat colours are pretty bright, don't like them at all!

The meals look pretty good though it looks like everything is served at once rather than by course.

Lastly, great cockpit shot's, you got luck there!

Rgds

Very interesting even though i've flown Biman, a flight on BG is never the same, they make tech stops here there and everywhere. The DC-10's are old and cranky but they make a trip more interesting. Thanks for sharing.

Fantastic trip report! Quite unique since only few Biman trip reports are available. I know there is a curfew on visiting in-flight cockpit of any US based airlines (for passengers). I guess that’s not the case with Biman.

How did you get cockpit access on all of those flights?

Biman is an intersting experience. It is not nice like other carriers. Thanks for the report.
If you have never designed an airplane part before, let the real designers do the work!

Great reports and pictures!!! I've always wondered what Biman Bangladesh was like. I saw one of their DC-10's at LHR a few years ago.

Really super trip report. I too had an interesting experience flying them on J. I think they treat non-Bangladeshi passengers significantly better. Sad, but true.

Cheers,
A.

Why did they stop flights to the USA? I think they lost their license? They have had a lot of problems. Even if I were allowed to fly them I would be too scared. By the way great fascinating trip report. True the DC-10 was a nice plane. Lasty one I flew was on Swissair about 15 years ago. And the MD-11 was also great. Byt dc-10 had a lot of hydraulic problems at first.

Sir, what a fantastic and great report you have there.

Those seats really bring memories of back in the days.

I still remember MH's DC-10 fleet.

Amazing report and photography!

I am sure that it is an amazing journey and the cabin is definitely a reflection of the earlier era of flying.

Thanks,

Great trip report. You have more guts than me. When I used to see the D10 at JFK I thought, "no way." I admire your courage. The cockpit must have been a great experience, I too am envious.

Hi there - great report and pics as always. I considered the BG DC10 for a trip a few months back, but ended up choosing NW for my one and only DC10 trip. A beautiful aircraft type that will be sorely missed when it is gone.

I retraced some of your steps this week - I met our mutual friend in Tehran and we took a flight to MHD on the Saha Air B707. It was an absolute pleasure and like you, I am so glad I did it.

Looking forward to more great photos and trip reports.

Regards,

Ian.

WOW!!! Im so jealous . Id love to fly the BG DC-10. Ive always wanted to go on it and I think I will have to get myself together and sort it out before its too late. Do they do any European to European routes that have traffic rights on them or are they all long haul???
