Jakarta (CGK) to Kuala Lumpur (KUL)
Flight: Malaysia Airlines MH710 A330-300
Flight Time: 1.36 hrs
Cruise: 40,000 feet
Seat: 7A Business Class
As usual, I woke up pretty late for the flight. But still able to make it to the airport with plenty of time to spare. The reason for this trip to Guangzhou is to visit the Canton Trade Fair, hence, my mum, wife, and 2 colleagues decided to tag along for this trip. As my colleagues were with me for the trip and were traveling in Y, I decided to keep them company and just relax at my favorite spotting place at CGK which is at the smoking lounge at the food court.
Saw the usual late morning flights out of Jakarta, but in addition to an SQ B773 parked at the usual stand, there was also the A345 on the usual MH stand.
My ride for the day pulling in next to SQ A345
I was one of the first to board my flight in the business class cabin. I did get a surprise though, this is an A330, but its configured with the A332 seats but without the PTVs. Don¡¦t ask me how but, it just is. This even got over MH expert 9M MAR baffled!! Midway through boarding, the aircraft suddenly experienced a huge jolt backwards, and everyone really got shocked expressions on their faces. Even a seasoned traveler like me was shocked. Captain soon came on the PA announcing that something happened during the cargo loading and engineers were checking on the aircraft. Soon the captain also came out of the cockpit to inspect the aircraft from the ground. After a couple of minutes the all clear was given and we were off to KUL.

Nice polluted skies over CGK
The flight was over in a jiffy and again its another great flight thanks to the excellent MH cabin crew.

Kuala Lumpur (KUL) to Guangzhou (CAN)
Flight: Malaysia Airlines MH376 A330-300
Rego: 9M MKK
Flight time: 4.0 hrs
Cruise: 37,000 feet
Seat: 4K Business Class
We stayed in Kuala Lumpur for 1 night as my colleagues has not been here before. I needed to show them how advanced KL is now especially when you compare it to the little messed up place we call home, Jakarta. We stayed at my favorite hotel in KL which was the Westin in Bukit Bintang.
Room at the Westin
We woke up at 0500 and self drove to KLIA. I really was a soccer mum for the day as I had to drive myself, my mum, wife, and 2 colleagues to the airport. Check in took some time at KLIA due to the mad morning rush for many destinations. The business class line was really long, so I decided to line up in the first class line ļ Took me around 10 mins before it was my turn. An Indian gentlemen next to me was complaining about why he was not seated with his family on a flight to Chennai. Oh well, for those losers who has not learnt, always pre request your seat numbers before you fly.
We decided to head to the satellite terminal to do some duty free and my colleagues parted their ways with us as they could not get a ticket for the CAN flight, therefore they had to fly via HKG before making their way by road to CAN. They should arrive maybe 3 hours after we reach CAN although they will depart earlier. I actually preferred to follow them as the flight to HKG is by the upgraded B772 whereas my flight to CAN is still by the really worn out A333. To make things worse, my colleagues managed to get on 9M MRD which is the Freedom of Space logojet!
Oh well, at least I am in business class while they were on Y heheheh mean of me, I know, hey, but that¡¦s the perk of me being the boss :P
My colleague took a pic of 9M MRO just to annoy me, here it is

Managed to snap this picture as we were leaving the lounge, Air India B738 in its new cs
Another extremely cheerful crew on this flight, but the J cabin was filled with middle eastern people who were also going to the Canton Fair. And boy they were so noisy, I could hardly sleep the entire flight! Thank god for my Bose earphones to the rescue again. Somehow my wife still could sleep most of the way with all that noise, truly amazing! They really need ptv¡¦s on the A333, as I repeated many times, they are really due for an upgrade.

Flying over Putrajaya
Although the J cabin was 100% full, the crew still did an amazing job and service was not even flawed, although its slightly below the normal levels I am used to. In all my travels, MH has hardly let me down on its service standard. We arrived into CAN slightly earlier than scheduled and soon my friends chauffeur met us at the waiting area and we were off to the hotel.

Tarmac scenes in CAN
The next 4 days were spent in Guangzhou and it was actually more of a working holiday. Here are some pictures of the hotel which I stayed in, The Landmark Hotel, which is highly recommended and also scenes from Guangzhou itself.
Map of the old colonial town
After the trip, we decided to take a 3 day break in Hong Kong and we decided to try the train which was a bargain. The first class was only around USD$20
The train was delayed by 40mins so I still managed to walk around the train terminal and snap a nice pic of it
Legroom and seats on the train, very comfortable actually especially for someone my size
Another nice thing about my trip to Hong Kong was, since I have been to Hong Kong like 30+ times during my lifetime, its basically like a 3rd home for me, therefore I hardly take pictures, but since I started posting my TR¡¦s on A.Net, I decided to take some nice views and scenes of Hong Kong which turned out great! I also managed to find the distributor for Dragon Aircraft models and I did go overboard with my purchase. Bought like 30 1:400 models. Even managed to get an SQ A380. Right now my model collection stands at around 60+ and sits proudly on my shelf in my office. I will definitely take a pic of it one day and post it on A.NET!
Please enjoy the nice pictures I took of Hong Kong
I also managed to take a ride on the nostalgic Star Ferry as to my knowledge it will be shut down soon. But great news for those of you who has no chance in the near future to take a ride in it, even when its shut down, they will still use 2 boats to run tourist sightseeing trips of the harbor.

Hong Kong (HKG) to Kuala Lumpur (KUL)
Flight: Malaysia Airlines MH73 B777-200
Rego: 9M MRO
Flight Time: 3.35 hrs
Cruise: 38,000 ft
Seat: 3K Business Class
Somehow time flies really quick when you are in Hong Kong. Always sad to leave Hong Kong, but like they always say, all good things must come to an end. As Hong Kong airport is really nice, we decided to arrive pretty early and do some shopping. Check in was brisk and was handled by a really gorgeous agent, and very friendly plus efficient too! After check in we decided to have some dim sum at Maxims where I managed to get a view of airside at the airport
As MH uses the QF lounge in HKG, we decided not to go there as you know, there nothing much anyway in QF lounges. One of the best lounges in HKG after CX and SQ is actually TG. So off spotting I went while the others went shopping. I did join them after awhile!
After last minute shopping, we boarded the plane with 20 minutes to spare. I settle in my seats and finally I get my AVOD and new seats! Really a huge change in comparison to the A330¡¦s. Looks like its going to be another excellent cabin crew by the way I was greeted and attended too.
Freedom of space indeed!
Some more nice tarmac shots whilst we were taxiing to the runway
Just after lift off
Can¡¦t live without AVOD
Nothing like watching the sun go down from an aircraft
This flight was great and effortless. I also noticed that although MH and TG uses similar seats in J and F, Mh has more space and their ptv¡¦s are in the armrest versus Tg which are behind the front seat¡¦s cocoon. This was truly one of the best flights I have had so far on MH, to bad its only a quick 3 hour flight.

Kuala Lumpur (KUL) to Jakarta (CGK)
Flight: Malaysia Airlines MH 727 B737-400
Rego: 9M MMM (nice registration huh!)
Flight time: 2.0hrs
Cruise: 35,000 feet
Seat 2F Business Class
After landing from HKG, I walked my mum to G gates for her flight to SIN. As I still got time to spare we decided to kill our time back in the satellite terminal before we went back to H gates for our CGK flight.
We were all pretty tired when we got onto the aircraft and it was a really light load, so great for us! Another cheerful crew on board. I decided not to take any pics of the seats as I have already done plenty CGK and KUL runs, so I won¡¦t bore you anymore with this. I was so deadbeat by then I even forgot to take note of the menu, but I still remembered to take a pic of the food!
Another nice and normal flight by MH and after arrival I hoped the customs did not question me about the ton of aircraft models I bought and thank god they didn¡¦t, actually they seemed really lazy! Met up with my chauffeur and off to home sweet home it is. Hope you guys enjoyed this TR, I am going to Marrackech in Morocco on the 5th of May via Paris and flying with TG and AF in F and J respectively, so do look out for it.
