Route: KBDL - KDEN
Flight number: F9314
Duration: 4 Hours
Frontier started service to DEN from BDL in March 07. So it was an easy to choice when I had to get to LAS. I have only read good things about F9, so I was looking forward to this flight. I arrived at BDL at 0600 for my 0730 flight. There was only 4 people in line ahead of me and check-in was a breeze. Frontier is in the new terminal at BDL. Boarding was very quick and the plane was 3/4 full, fortunatly the middle seat was open which would be nice for the next 4 hours!

We departed 33 and flew north over Albany then west from there over northern NY. We flew over Niagra Falls and the Captain dipped the wing so we could get get a good look at it. I was only able to get my camera out at the last second, but here is a pick anyway:
We continued west over Michigan, then between ORD and MKE into Iowa before turning SW towards DEN. We cruised at FL380.
We were offered pretty standard service which include choice of beverage, and a Muffin (I had Blueberry). Frontier is now a cashless cabin, so if you want to buy any "extras" or use the IFE (other than map and the Frontier channel) you will have to have a credit card. Decent into DEN was uneventful, but it was my first time into DEN so seeing the snow capped mountains for the first time was very cool. Some of the peaks near DEN are 14,000 feet and the snow line seemed to be around 10,000 feet. We landed on 16L.
This was also my first time seeing the terminal at DEN which is just incredible to see in person.

The Frontier gates were all packed with people waiting for thier flights. Boarding again was very quick and the flight was completly full. We taxied out to 25 and were number 1 for t/o. When you depart 25 at DEN you are pointed straight at the mountains so climbout is very sharp to get up and over them. It was a little bumpy getting over the peaks but quickly smoothed out. To fly up and over snow covered mountains is amazing.
Once you pass the mountains you then get to fly over red canyons.Lots of little towns are dotted along the river.
This one was very interesting to see it is at the bottom of a large cliff and the river cuts very deep right through it. Does anyone know where this is? It was about 1/2 hour SW of DEN.
I don't have any idea what it is, but it was strange to see this bright blue area. Maybe some kind of mining?
The second half of the flight was like flying through a glass of milk, just solid white above and below us. We finally broke through the clouds just before Lake Mead.
We made a few turns over the Lake before making our final approach. I was expecting warm weather and clear sky in Vegas, instead it was cold and cloudy.
We landed on 25L at LAS.
Frontier was very nice. I would deffinatly fly with them again. The a/c were clean, the seats were fairly comfortable and service was good. I hope to also make it to DEN to visit.
