We moved to Hilton Head in November, and I had not been back to FL since January due to work, school, and other commitments. I wanted to go alone, and being 17 my parents won't let me drive that far yet, so I had to fly.(darn!) AirTran had a sale, and Delta was matching fares, so I booked with Delta to get the miles. Sorry, but I did not take any pics.

SAV-ATL Delta #585
Depart: 8:30AM
Arrive: 9:34AM.
Aircraft:MD-88 N905DL
This flight was pretty uneventful, and very full. We flew through some spectacular cloud layers of the storms that had been dumping rain over Hilton Head for the past two days. As flying time was only 39 minutes, the flight attendants did not do a beverage service. Before long, we began descending into Atlanta where the weather was quite clear. Then we had one of the hardest landings I have ever experienced. We flew over the numbers and kept floating down the runway, and everytime we would sink, the engines would spool up. Finally we touched down, left wheel first, then right, then the nose wheel. As soon as the nose wheel hit the brakes were applied, as was reverse thrust, and everyone slid forward in their seats. Some people even had their hands on the seat backs in front of them. After the "fun" was over, we taxied to gate B15.

ATL-DAB Delta #1229
Depart: 10:35AM
Arrive: 11:59AM
Aircraft: MD-88
Seat: 30E
This flight was almost overbooked...after riding over to Concourse D and getting a Cinnabon, I went back to gate B9 where my flight would be departing. Just checking to see if it was overbooked they told me they might need a volunteer. I asked what the compensation was and they said $400. I got very excited, but it turned out that not everyone showed up and they didn't need me after all. This flight was also pretty uneventful and the weather was beautiful except for some turbulence along the way. There were some huge cumulonimbus clouds around Volusia county that we flew by and were amazing to see. We began descending to land on runway 07L and flew over our old house in Hunter's Ridge(Ormond Beach) which was pretty neat. We had a much smoother landing and arrived at the gate right on time at 11:59AM. After collecting my bag from baggage claim, I was off to enjoy some time with old friends. I will post the return tomorrow. God Bless

Even though I fly on Delta a lot now I seem to somehow not fly on the MD80 as much as when I lived in DAB.

Was it configured with the new interior, leather seats and LED lighting?

On my return flight from DAB-ATL, the MD-88 had the LED lighting. All of the other planes had the new leather seats, overhead bins, but not the LED lights.
