Here is the second part to the trip. After having fun in Minneapolis, it was time to go. I took the train to the airport and check in after stepping off the tram. i had to pay some money since my bag was 4 lbs overweight, I really did not care about that. After security, I decided to go early to the observation deck and get some good pics of some aircraft from there. There was a TSA
agent up there but was on his break and other workers came up there for naps, otherwise it was a nice experience and the planes I saw were wonderful. Unfortunately I have too many pictures to look through that I took up there so here is what I saw as a condensed version. All this was in a 3 hour period up there.

Northwest Airlink flight 3629 MSP

(no pictures yet on the database, this airplane was brand new and started service days ago here is the first one they got)
I made it to the gate area about 30 minutes before boarding after being up in the observation deck for a couple of hours and getting a sandwich afterwards, I waited and talked to a gate agent about the scheduling and cancelling of flights and she said the same thing as the check-in agent that it was staffing. After that I waited for the time to board and there was one guy coming up asking to get on the MDW
flight to CLE
and change planes at MDW
, the CSA agent said that he could not do that on standby, so he walked off. the flight was full anyway and it was time to board.
The smell was wonderful since it was new and the F/A said that it just started service. I looked in the cockpit for a minute and saw someone was in the jumpseat and I took my seat. The CRJ had the new bins, with LED
lights and the handle was placed differently. The window screens have a slot in the window curvature for the handle to be stowed if you want the screen up. Some of the screens slide from the top while others slid from the bottom up. other features are the first class seats have smaller sliding doors on the bins and smaller space than the right side.
The safety announcement was automated and the safety cards are new and the cabin signs have the "Turn off electronic devices" and "Fasten Seat Belt" illuminating. the seat belt sign was on for the whole flight though.
We taxied out to runway 17-35 which took the longest time, since the other NWA aircraft went to the two 12 runways to take off. We made a wonderful takeoff and got up to 22,000 feet in about 25-30 minutes and passed by the Mall of America when we took off. The weather was nice and it got cloudy as we got closer to MDW

45 minutes had passed when it was time to land. We went through the puffy clouds and made a turn toward the approach for 4R. The landing was light but they had to brake and put reverse thrust on near the end of the runway. We taxied back to the gate and the wonderful flight was over. I did not get a chance to talk to the pilots or see the cockpit since the FAA was with them and the pilots did not get out after all the passenger left. I talked to the F/A's and told them it was a nice flight and the airplane was nice. They did not know if it was a Next Generation, but I believe it was. The last pic here is of us landing at MDW
Overall the short flight was great and the plane had that new smell, if you want to ride on it, I say go on. This is the new CRJ with some nicer features that will be on the Next Generation version, and the best one I have been on. I still wished I would have taken more pictures but I will try to ride on it through MSP
