NCE-CDG-ORD On Air France (Pictures)

Sun Jul 22, 2007 1:56 pm

So, my trip to France with ACIS Educational Tours had ended. I became closer with friends at school, met new people, and saw amazing sights. France was an amazing country with a rich culture and I cannot wait to go back. Unfortunately, it was time to fly home. We took an overnight train to Nice earlier in the trip so we were flying home Nice - Paris - Chicago.

We arrived at the Nice Airport at about 8:00am. At this point, it was only the students from my school. The two other groups flew home on different flights. There was a small line and we got checked in and our baggage got checked through to Chicago. We waited in the airport until about 9:40am before our flight to Paris Charles de Gaulle boarded. So, the trip back to the United States began.

Air France flight 7701
STD: 10:10am
ATD: 10:14am
STA: 11:45am
ATA: 11:42am
Airbus A320, Seat 19F

We took off right on time and started flying toward Paris. There was nothing really spectacular about this flight, they served La Mere Poudlard cookies (from Mont-St-Michel) and a drink during the flight and it was very smooth. It went very quickly and we were at Charles de Gaulle in a little over an hour. I did notice that there were no winglets on this A320.

In Flight. The flight was full.

No Winglet on this Airbus!

We landed in Paris and made our connections and took the bus to Gate E85 in the temporary structure where we boarded our Airbus A340 for flight 51 to Chicago.

It's always fun to walk on the tarmac

About to walk up the stairs at door 2L.

We boarded on time, but ended up sitting on the tarmac for a little over an hour for unknown reasons. It was not a big deal, the crew was great and brought around drinks. The guy who was at our row was very funny.

Leaving Paris!

They had little cupholders on the tray tables. I loved this because you didn't have to put down the tray table when you had a drink so it saved room.

I had taken a Tylenol PM so I slept until mealtime. It was basically the same thing as before, beef and vegetables. It was very good though. We landed in Chicago a little late but I made it through customs in 25 minutes which was great. Everybody met up with their parents and my Mom drove me back home to the Western Suburbs. I was happy to be home, but sad to be away from France. Air France was great!

Good reports, both parts.

I might have believed you if you said that was a 757, but the A320 has that extra flap canoe.  Smile
I love ASO!

The early A320-100s dont have flaps, and clearly he flew on one of those  Smile

Perhaps... but there is also another possibility:

The plane could've had one winglet missing for whatever reason. Notice the interior picture... it shows the slightly newer overhead locker doors (metal effect handles etc). The A320-100s certainly didn't have them (although I guess they could've been retrofitted)

Very good report and pictures! Interesting to see you flew on an A320 with no winglets.
Will you watch the Cleveland Browns and the Detroit Lions on Sunday? Only if coach Eric Mangini resigned after a loss.
