CDG-LAX In First Class ( Pics )

Sun Dec 23, 2007 11:40 am

Hello all

I flew to LAX from CDG with AF

I visited my folks here in france.... (I used to live there)

Flight from MRS was on time, I headed to the Terminal E, I have been warmly welcomed by the ground staff, she checked my BP, then we passed the security, I was the sole passenger for FC, while the coach class line was full...

the lounge is very close, it took us 1 min. As soon as I reched the lounge, my passport and Bording Pass were collected... for inspection..

As you will see from the pics, it was a good lounge, but for business class, you expect more for FC lounge, like NZ in LAX, no wireless connection (free)

it was 12;40, an agent came and drove me to the plane with a mercedes benz..

The FA is charge of FC cabin was stunning, ( she worked on concorde )...

the seat : 1A as usual, i slept 7 hours straight

IFE : worked, yes it's not a joke!!!! I dream AF will copy SQ....

time to see what you eat for lunch :

Appetizer : white radish ravioli with aragula and ricotta cheese, carrot cake flavored with gringer and cinnamon

Hors d'oeuvre : scallops with ras-el-hanout spices with cucumber and tomatoes.... so tasty

Main course : filet of beef with earl grey jus, paired with radish, peas. good as well

Dinner :

Hors d'oeuvre : sheep's milk cheese wrapped in nori

main course : veal accompanied by sweet-and-sour sauteed zucchini with basil

Verdict : paying 12000 euros round trip ( P fare ), it can be a disappointment... but be relieved i used an award ticket....the crew were very nice

Check In: 10 (Friendly and free)
Lounge: 6 ( I expect more from AF)
Boarding: 10( by car)
Seat: 9.5 (a bit wider could be nice)
Crew: 9 (always looking after you)
Meal: 8 (good.)
Entertainment: 7 (working for once)

MORE TR to come

Hope you have enjoyed...

So long

Another TR in FC pics are on the previous link

Hello all

I flew to LAX from LHR with AF with my friend

I was there for christmas

Flight from LHR was on time, we headed to the Terminal E, we have been welcomed by the ground staff but nothing special, she checked our BPs, then we passed the security, she did not even say a word while walking to the lounge, we were 2 passengers in FC, while the coach class line was full...

the lounge is very close, it took us 1 min. As soon as I reched the lounge, my passport and Bording Pass were collected... for inspection..

As you will see from the pics, it was a good lounge, but for business class, you expect more for FC lounge, like NZ in LAX, no wireless connection (free)

it was 9;45, an agent came and drove me to the plane with a mercedes benz..

The FA is charge of FC cabin was not stunning, there is no word to explain how he did the job, i'm speechless

the seat : 1A as usual, i slept 3 hours straight

IFE : worked,

time to see what you eat for lunch, I have to say this meal and the dinner were the best meal I have ever taste on AF :

Appetizer : shrimp with mascarpone cheese and chervil, brochette of smoked salmon and marinated cucumber, white radish with vegetables

Hors d'oeuvre : lobster salad

fresh seasonal salad

Main course : casserole of eggplant, zucchini and tomato, celery topped with tapenade, with filet of beef with lemon grass jus

Dinner :

Hors d'oeuvre : sweet potato and pickled ginger rolled in nori with crisp vegetables

main course : I took both meal, it was a good treat...

1 : veal, jus flavored with ajowan caraway, carrots with anchovy flan

2 : pan-seared prawns served with marinated mango and cilantro flan

Don't tell me I'm greedy, I know it !!

Verdict : paying 12000 euros round trip ( P fare ), for this kind of trip is worthwhile if you have the money for it.. but be relieved i used an award ticket....

Check In: 10 (Friendly and free)
Lounge: 6 ( I expect more from AF)
Boarding: 10( by car)
Seat: 9.5 (a bit wider could be nice)
Crew: 10 (cant expect more)
Meal: 10 (my tongue enjoyed.)
Entertainment: 7 (working for once)

MORE TR to come

Hope you have enjoyed...

Why not travel in Y and use the rest of the money between
F and Y and buy yourself a nice house in Monte Carlo...?  Smile

1st class looks nice but i guess i don't really understand why anyone is willing to pay for that. it's so not worth it given the price.

90 % of first class passengers are not paying any ticket, the company does..

but I've just bought a FC ticket... for 5300 USD and 4 legs in F, i will earn 100.000 miles, so i will take another award in F..

by the way, the given link has 3 legs in F : 2 CDG-LAX and 1 LAX-CDG....

I don't have time to make a report, the only thing I can say is that I wrote a complain letter to AF about the LAX-CDG...

2 things happened to me during the flight... It's beyond your imagination... I was damn angry...

I will explain that as soon as I will have the letter from AF customer service..

Even tough I had a matter with them, I will keep them as my main carrier, unless with the open skies, a carrier start LAX-CDG non-stop...

After so many flights with them, it's the first time, otherwise I have always faced wondeful FAs..

however, my complain does not come about the FAs..

I'll tell you more later on.
