Last week I took the chance to fly Air Tran down to BWI from PWM, and spent a couple days in Alexandria, VA/D.C. The primary purpose of the trip was to check out the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum's Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center at Dulles Airport. It was worth the time to see the Air France Concorde, SR-71, 707 prototype, and dozens and dozens of other aircraft! I've been intending to take a trip down and check it out sometime when I had a few days off.
Anyway, this isn't really a traditional trip report, but more of a video trip report. I've just started using Window's Movie Maker and thought I'd record some video of the flight to BWI to experiment and play with while becoming familiar with video editing. Unfortunately, my higher quality recording device wasn't working and I had no choice but to grab a small digital camera with a video function at the last minute before leaving to the airport. The image quality could be a lot better, but there's good audio. Includes de-icing prior to departing PWM in a snowstorm, climb through the storm to cruise at dusk and finally a final approach and landing at night on BWI's runway 33L.
I intended to post this video on Flightlevel350, but I doubt it's quality is good enough for acceptance. Nevertheless, it's ok.
Flight was on January 14, 2008 PWM-BWI on Air Tran 717-200, Registration N958AT
