Southwest ALB-MCO

Fri Feb 15, 2008 9:48 pm

Southwest Airlines’
Flight # 1846
ALB-MCO
Feb. 13, 08
3 hrs and 10 mins

I arrived at the airport an hour early. I am glad I did, as the airport was packed. I was already checked in, so I just had to drop my bags. The bag drop counter was packed, as was the kiosk, so I decided to use the curbside check in. The US counter was actually more crowded than the WN counter, people were waiting in line by the baggage claim. After I went through security, I did some walking around, and to my surprise, I saw a US 733. I didn’t know there was any noon time mainline flights. I took the escalator down to the commuter section of concourse B, there is about 3 gates down there. Its sad to see that there aren’t really any flights down their. I think that DL and US might use those gates, but IDK. IDK why AC doesn’t use those gates. Boarding was eventully called and I managed to get seat 1C. The head FA was nice in the beginning, but then she turned snooty.

After take off the FA’s started their service, but then the Capt. Told them to take their seats, as we hit turbulence south of Albany. In about 15 mins, their service started again, but then the Capt. Told them to take their seats again. I haven’t had a flight this bumpy in a while. The last time must have been from MCO-FLL when beer spilled on me, and I smelled like beer for the rest of the day. Speaking of beer, a guy was flirting with the FA as he kept going up to her and whispering to her, and they were laughing and smiling at each other. He must have been drunk, as he had 3 beers and 2 cocktails. We approached the Florida Penisula from the Northeast and at about 25 mins before landing, 66 miles from MCO, we approached the beaches of Daytona Beach. I didn’t know how close DAB was to the speedway. On final approach, the capt. Came over the PA and announced we were approaching the most interesting final approach to MCO as it was over an amazing work of architecture. It was his house. When we landed, I saw 2 DL 763’s and 2 Virgin 744’s. We had to sit on the taxiway for 15 mins for a gate. 

Overall flight: 6.75
Service 6
Friendliness: 5
Cabin Comfort: 8
Cleanliness: 8

Sounds like a pretty decent WN trip. That is how most of our WN trips are, although I haven't had turbulence like that since I flew on UA 3 years ago. What snacks were you served on your flight? I will be on a 2.5-3 hour WN flight this summer and I want to know what they might serve.

I was served peanuts and wheat thins. If it is over 3+ a snack box will be served.

I see. I have been on OKC-LAS which is about 2hr 25min and we were given Crackers and Peanuts. I was on a MCI-DEN flight before and I asked the F/A for some Crackers and she brought me a Snack Box. I very nice gesture.

Nice TR

Turbulence is sometimes really annoying.

Seems that you otherwise had a good flight.
