GOL Economy (Goiania-Brasilla-Sao Paulo) W/Pics

Mon Jun 02, 2008 4:17 pm

I am a little late posting this trip report but this was from my trip to Brasil in June of 2007. I was in Goiania for about to weeks and upon returning to New York had the oppurtunity to fly BRA Airlines from GYN-GRU direct but they had canceled the flight was I was put on GOL from GYN-BSB-GRU. Hope you enjoy

Check In at Goiania was easy. It was a small terminal with only four to five airlines flying in and out. GOL Staff was very nice and soon I was through secruity and made my way to the observation deck where I grabbed a couple of pictures.

Ocean Air F100

After about an hour boarding was called for the flight to Brasilla which was packed.

Upon entering the aircraft I was welcomed by two kind flight attendants. The flight is only about 30 minutes so I was expecting that their would be no service.

After the doors were shut, the FA's came on the speaker to brief us with the safety message. Spoken both in Portuguese and English. After a brief couple of minutes waiting for a TAM A319 to land we were airborne and headed to the capitol. After five minutes after takeoff flight attendants came around to pass out water. This was a nice touch since most airlines on a 30 minute flight dont give anything. The cabin was clean and tidy but the seats lacked the headrests like on the GOL 738. Anyhow soon after we touched town in Brasilla and I walked to my gate for the flight to Sao Paulo GRU.

Hallways Like All South American Airports

After getting to the gate my plane had yet to arrive so I went to grab a bite to eat. Brasilla is a nice airport. My flight to GRU arrrived and boarding began.

Tail of PR-GIH

Once entering through the airplane I noticed that the seats were the same as the 733 that I took from GYN.

Flight attendants were cheerful and all but one spoke english.

We pushed back a little late and were soon airborne.

Upon taking off I noticed three Trans Brasil 767-200's. Anyone know whats going to happen to those? Flight attendants came around with a quick snack and beverage service. They served either peanuts or a granola bar.

Soon after there was no much to do since GOL does not have IFE on any of their flights. We landed in foggy Sao Paulo just a little late.

On the ground was all flights back to the US including 3 AA 767's, 1 AA 777, 2 CO 767's, 2 DL 767's, KLM 777, JAL 744, and many others. My flight to New York had not arrived yet due to the fact that it was inbound from GIG. All in all GOL is a great airline for short hops and hope to fly them again soon.

Interesting report. Not much to write about on such short flights but really nice pictures. It is a pleasure reading about somewhere different for a change.

We need more airports where you can walk across the tarmac... that's the way air travel is supposed to be! =)

I look forward to your next report.

Thanks, not too many GOL TR's here of late, hopefully they might pick up in the summer season.

Seems GOL provide decent service for a LCC, I'd not expect them to provide water on a 30 minute flight, pretty good!

Nice to see some pictures from South America, love to see them - not managed to go spotting in that part of the world yet!

Very nice report.
Gol is a very correct airline, they seem to be very professional and the staff is really great.
I enjoyed my flights with GOL. They aren´t awesome, but they´re good!

Thanks for the report! I especially enjoyed the pictures of Goiania as I will be flying there from HNL in three weeks and I will also take GOL from GRU! Your report had good timing!
