Part 3 of my crazy June with a bunch more trips in one long report.

Part 1 Here
Part 2 [url=]Here{/url]

Trip Report: 10
Date: May 26, 2008
Flight: AC 416
Seat: 36F
Aircraft: Airbus 321
Load 95 to 99%

My Air Canada Flight Pass was about to expire and I had 2 segments left which I didn't want to waste. I had a meeting at the airport at 7pm so I needed to pick a time and run that allowed for flexibility. I chose to go to YUL with 45 minutes between my arriving and departing flights hoping to get a caesar at the lounge.

I checked in on line and decided to sit at the back of the plane so that I could get a new look for some of the photos. I chose the 2nd to last row and off to the airport I went.
There was an accident right off the ramp of Hyw 400 & 427 which brought traffic to a stop. I got a couple decent photos... but nothing spectacular.
I decided to park in the short term lot for a change. Some artistic photos.
Walkway to Terminal 1 from short term parking.
Domestic arrivals area.
Airport cop bike...
View from before security of the local flight gates.

Security line was non-existant as per usual on the mid-level security.
Art installations are all over T1.
I had arrived just in time for lunch - including my patented caesar!
Business centre...
The view from gate 120 towards T3 with Air France waiting to take some people to France...
More T1 art...
3 different looks for AC tails...

I had some time to kill so I decided to venture to the lower level gates to take some photos of the prop airplanes and regional crafts.
AirAlliance which is part of the Air Canada partner airlines that serves exotic locales such as London, ON.
Gate 128 with our Airbus. It is hard to get a clear shot of these gates.
Better shot of AF parked at T3.
SIde by side gates...
There are many TVs in T1 which display the news and other CBC programming.
Boarding: assistance, StarAlliance Gold , back, front...
Space was good for short haul.
Getting a tow to hangar...
Parked next door...
Seat pitch was ok for a short flight considering that it was the back row.
Zoom Air parked at T3, upstart Canadian low cost serving UK, Paris.
Another angle on the AF during taxi...

After a quick and easy takeoff, no long line, rolling takeoff it was up up and away.
Guess what didn't work? Moving maps! Suprised? Nope.
Cruise level for the 50 minute flight. It was a bumpy one.
Service was a drink and "salt" service which suited me just fine after my soup and salad in the lounge.
Descent was ugly all around and bumpy. I started to get worried about my return flight and making my 7pm meeting...
We pulled out of the clouds on the north side of Montreal just before downtown.
YUL from a distance.
The Big O!
A minimum security prison I've had the pleasure of visiting once. It has a nice view on the river.
Making the big turn on the east end of the island.
Miron Quarry.
Final final...
Dash parked at the remote gates in YUL.

After landing, I had 15 minutes before boarding of my next flight (which was the same aircraft with new crew but old pilots), so it was off to the lounge for a caesar and a quick round of photos.
View of Gate 3 from the Maple Leaf Lounge. A spotters paradise!
The lounge even had a telescope (seen with a view of the Porter tail)
Infoscreen in the lounge - old school!
Maple Leaf Lounges are very consistent with their product offerings. Montreal had fruit salad which I have never seen before...

I had already overstayed my welcome so it was off to the next flight.
Info screen in terminal.

YUL has very visible power points throughout the airport so no need to move furniture looking for outlets.
