AA Den-lax-jfk-durham-ord-denver Part One.

Wed Oct 22, 2008 5:14 am

hey guys it's been a while since I've posted one of these but I really enjoyed this mileage run so i thought I'd post.

Being that I'm from Denver It rare that i get to fly on anything biggger than an a320, So I jumped at the chance to get on a bigger plane and go for a longer flight.

So my day began early in the morning (8:45) long before my flight departed at 5:45pm.
I had some time to kill before leaving so I wasted the day like a typical 20 year old.

I jumped the gun and arrived at the airport at 3:30 which gave me more than enough time to go through security and visit all of the concourses.

Do to unfortunate events I'm unable to post any of the pictures of Denver which included...
UA 777 new livery
LH A340 headed to frankfurt
Delta 757
Several 737 from SWA

The only picture I did get... Was an AA Md-80 which was not my plane. it's headed to dallas.

An interesting story was that this plane was not a scheduled flight.
It was from STL headed to LAx when it preformed an emergency landing due to smoke in the cabin.

My seat mate was on the flight and told me that it was because I light shorted out in the cabin.
he even assisted the FA's in removing the light.

AC md-80
on time.

This is one of my favorite routes out of Denver, to one of my favorite airports.

takeoff was surprising smooth and we climbed straight to our flight level 34000ft.

I did manage to get pictures of the decent but was unable to post most of them due to an unfortunate event.

can anyone tell me what carrier this is?

I love LAX, especially at dawn or dusk! it seems like theirs nothing but large A/C.

The landing was perfect and was without the use of reverse thrust. I don't remember what runway we landed on but We did come to a rather nerveracking halt before crossing another runway narrowly avoiding a AA767.... I wondered if it was some kind of communication error? kudos to the pilot for looking both ways!
we landed and taxied around the airport to terminal 4 So we must have landed on the north side.

having a couple of hours to kill before my flight to LAX I decided to try get something to eat.
Their were a couple restaurants open but were jammed packed with everyone's eyes on the TV.(due to the stock market and debate)

The last time I visited this terminal I decided to eat at the Burger king which had a sign proudly displaying that they had passed a health inspection with an A. I got extremely sick that night and it ruined my weekend in vegas. I decided to tempt fate and eat their once again, I noticed the sign was no longer present. I did not end up getting sickl this time around.

My flight was scheduled as flight 10 lax to JFK as a red eye. It featured 767-300
service according to AA.com I was semi disappointed to learn that it would be a 767-200.
other than the Ife being laid out differently I could not see much of a difference.

Much to my surprise upon boarding we were notified of AAs inflight internet service and told we would be getting it free tonight only.
If anyone wants a free internet pass let me know.

777 flight 10 to London.

I still can't get over the size of the engines.

Big version: Width: 406 Height: 406 File size: 39kb

747 headed to Melbourne. They had 75 rows of boarding!!!!
This flight also departed over an hour late.

.

during my flight there was turbulence that caused my drink to spill onto my camera and break it.
I still possess a memory card for it. Does anyone know where I can take my memory card to get the pictures?

I will post the rest of My Tr tomorrow enjoy!

Air Pacific.

Two options here. You could (a) take it to a place like CVS, Walgreen's, etc. and most likely get the photos burned onto a CD. Would probably cost $7-10.

The other option is to get a card reader - you can get one of these at a place like Best Buy for around $15.

Interesting shots. How much did you pay for this mileage run?

LAX-JFK is and has been solely 767-200 Flagship service for a long time now. Perhaps you misread it? SFO-JFK has a mix of 762/763 service though.

Maybe, I could of sworn that It said 763 though, ooh well.

I would love to try the 763 from jfk to san diego.

I've flown the DEN-LAX once and also enjoyed that flight. Never fully booked. It's a nice run.

That sounds scary on the near-collision!

Sorry about your camera. That really sucks.

LAX-JFK are all on 767-200s and have been solely on the 767-200s ever since the DC10s were on that run. AA's 767-200s are configured in 3 classes while the 767-300s are 2 classes of service. The 767-200s, which do 95% transcons (plus a BDA and a JFK MIA) are the only planes in the fleet with the internet service so far.

You really did get a good deal! Wow.

Thanks for posting.

You are absolutely right. I was wrong in my comment back to you. AA Flight 10 is scheduled as a 767-300. Every other LAX JFK is scheduled as a 767-200. That seems odd, but I'm looking at flights for November 1st and noticed a 767-300 on the schedule! AA10 is a 763. Really strange. Reminded me of this report.

From the employee website (with no proprietary info given out)
AA 10 LAX JFK 930P 445A+1 763 0 30 (30=total number of seats in first on this TWO class flight).

To compare with another flight:
AA 30 LAX JFK 1155P 710A+1 762 0 9 (9=total number of seats in first on this three class flight)
See, I knew American Eagle was first class all along!
