DCA-IAH-SFO Lots Of Pics With The

Sun Mar 15, 2009 4:02 am

My second trip report so be nice : )
Click on the pic for a larger size
Been planning this for a while, i saw a good fare on delta 170 r/t and a three night stay at the Sheraton for 50 a night which was awesome.....The total cost of the entire trip you are about to read is below 400 bucks : ) that's great three, nights stay at a four star hotel including fare from DC including food, subway bus fares, tips and etc........

Leg One: DCA-IAH
Airline/Flight #: Continental 559
Reg #: N38727

Got home at 11:00 the previous night from work and having a normal bedtime of about 3:00am i didn't bother sleeping. Had a ton of trouble getting a ride to the airport some confusion about the my departure but still manage to get there with a couple of minutes to kill.'

Continental B737s hanging out at National

Continental plane parked at the gate heading to Newark two hours later

My ride to Houston

The flight was full, so having a DL ticket their website didn't show any window seats and i completely forgot to check in the 24 hour mark to get better seats so i had to deal with the aisle reason why i don't have any pics inflight.
The flight itself was uneventful i don't even think they showed a movie. Had the usual cheerios with the banana and a muffin. While eating this i saw an ad on the seat packet that says "Eat up people on other airlines are starving" which i found funny. One more reason to love CO. The food might be crappy but it's my crappy food! lol. Got myself to Houston and had 2 hours to kill walked the parking garages was really windy and freezing not to mention cloudy. Didn't get a chance to whiff out my camera since one of the security people was tailing me. One of them asked me if i was looking for my car and i just said I'm connecting and walking around trying to burn calories. Didn't see the point of staying so i waked myself back to the terminal. I caught the same ac that i took from National and managed to take this picture of it taxiing headed to SNA.

Pic from the Terminal (my plane to SFO third one in the back)

I ate at the Panda Express and watch as the plane to Narita pushback..After that i went on and headed to my gate.

Leg 2: IAH-SFO
Airline/Flight #: Continental 478
Registration #: N16217

Took my usual window seat was happy to do this first time sitting anywhere besides window on the previous flight.

Great photos, love any trip reports to San Francisco.

BTW..

Just to clarify the DCA-IAH flight was a 737-700 and the IAH-SFO was a 737-900, is this correct?.. Was the IAH-SFO a 737-900 or 737-900ER?..

Hey BL, nice to see you flying all-Boeing. Those pics are very high quality, and it looks like you got a really good deal on tickets and hotel. Enjoyed the report. Can't wait to see the return. By the way, I usually eat at that food court next to gate E1 also. Love Houston! And the takeoff vid was great, especially since you had a crisp morning and a view of the skyline.

Thanks for sharing.

Ship 217 would have been a B738 on the IAH-SFO leg not a 900....all the CO 900's have ship numbers in the 401-432 range with the ER's starting at 413.
