Great report and some nice pictures! Emirates don't seem to have good seats on offer for Business Class - if I was paying for J Class I certainly would expect something more. What drove you to take Emirates? Surely other airlines offer faster and more comfortable routes.

Thanks a lot for the report!

Quoting Qantasistheway (Reply 2):

The price was unbeatable.

Service is always excellent.

Inflight Entertainment (ICE) is also great.

Comfort; the new j-class is "state of the art", but i didn't get it this time
Got those seats last time:

The seating in the Airbus seems really odd I have never seen 2-3-2 in an A340 or A330 in Business Class before. Is it comfortable?

Are the new seat sloping flat as it seems to be from the picture or horizontal as it appears on the controls? Either way it looks very comfortable.

Quoting Dj1986 (Reply 4):

The width of the Airbus seat is ok, maybe 4cm less than a 2-2-2 configuration.
...but it could be always more comfortable. The legroom is good.

The 777 offers plenty of room.

Emirates has more seats in a row, therefor a narrow aisle.

Nice, succinct TR with some great pics. Thanks

Do you know there were any showers in the Lounge in DXB?

The old J seats on PVG-DXB look revolting especially when compared to the new seats. Those A332s need to LEAVE or get a re-fit.

Yes, the lounge also offers free showers.
You can see 3 showers (blue dots) in the Business lounge.
Don't know about the showers in the F-lounge

Yes, I've been to Changi but only mentioned the pond with the Kois.
It also great but the cascade in DXB was more impressive to me.
I mean, the cascade is really huge....it covers 2-3 floors!

Nice pictures, would have liked a little more inflight detail.

Not sure about the meals, seems the economy meals are better from previous reports.

Don't like the 2-3-2 layout on the 343, not seen that before, not good at all!

Regards

Mark

This certainly confirms my impression that EK's J product is patchy at best; certainly not worth it given the usual price tag.

Thanks for the pictures.

Any chance you care to explain that further? MH148 hasn't posted any words about the service and there may be the odd meal... but it still looks far superior to the 'stuff' we get in economy! Big grin

There is a video played by EK , but not the safety video, they usually play it to show the specifications of the aircraft from entertainment and other stuff...
could someone get it for me....

The service was really excellent on all flights.
During the boarding-procedure you get your glas of champagne, orange or apple juice. After take-off they serve the first drinks and hand over the menu and wine cards and some canapes & nuts.

A few minutes later ... eye shades, socks and amenity box.

The business class seem to be a disgrace on the 77W!
I can't imagine that an airline such as EK can put such outdated J seats on a 77W (OK, the new 77Ws have new seats, but still...)

What to say about 7-abreast in J on the A343...

This is the problem of EK: the products are totally different from one plane to the other (and not only from a type to another...). You never know if you will have a good product or an everage one.

Very good TR though!!!!

Thanks.
